Is a Cardinal Collaborator of Francis involved in the Cover-up of a "Multiple Affairs" Francis appointed Bishop according to "37 Priests of his Diocese" who has been accused of Murder?
Leaked Phone Call Exposes Cover-Up Cardinal
Cardinal Oswald Gracias, who is a member of the eight-member Council of Cardinals of Francis which is his governing board and central administration, has been accused of covering-up for Bishop Kannikadass William Antony of Mysore. Gloria. tv reported:
The case of Mysore Bishop Kannikadass William Antony, 57, whom Francis appointed in 2017 has taken a new turn.
Antony was accused in 2019 by 37 priests of his diocese of having children from multiple affairs and of having had a mistress.
Father
Gnana Prakash additionally accused him in a letter to the Nuncio of
nearly any crime possible including murder of four priests who
criticised him, rape, homosexuality and embezzlement. The Vatican has
been investigating the case since February 2021.
Now,
ChurchMilitant.com (July 22) leaked the audio of a phone call between
Bombay Cardinal Oswald Gracias, a member of Francis’ Council of
Cardinals, and Antony. It's unclear how the call was obtained and
whether it is authentic.
During the phone call, a circumspect
Gracias asks Antony repeatedly whether he is alone expressing his wish
for a private and confidential talk. Later, Gracias asks again: “Is the
line safe? Line is safe, no?”
He tells Antony not to trust
anybody, “You don't know who's playing a game, who's behind what. It
could all be a trick to trap you.” Gracias urges the bishop to take a
paternity test, informing him that Curia Cardinal Tagle has ordered to
do so, and suggesting that the test should be performed by a Catholic
hospital to “control the media, control the doctors, control the
publicity.”
Gracias explains that if the paternity clears him then “everybody will say you're a martyr who suffered so much unfairly." [https://www.gloria.tv/post/qg4pd2Xd2zzt1HWxJwZh4rhh2]
Crux also reported that the Francis appointed Bishop William Antony has been accused of murder:
Ucanews.com reported that former Justice Michael F. Saldanha alleged that Bishop Kannikadass William Antony of Mysore, India, was responsible for the deaths of four priests, two of whom were suspected to have been murdered.
The legal notice, a copy of which was released to media, was sent to Cardinal Oswald Gracias, president of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India, and Archbishop Peter Machado of Bangalore. Mysore is a suffragan diocese of Bangalore.
Antony has been facing accusations of sexual misconduct and financial misappropriation from his own priests.
