Why is the "Conservative" Epoch Times promoting Francis Catholic Pro-Abort Propaganda that Establishment Republican Elder lost because he was Pro-Life?
"The mainstream media, the conservative media and Fox News all piled into the Larry Elder," Bannon said. "I love Larry Elder. He's a great guy. He's terrific. But this race is not about Larry Elder and everybody made it about Larry Elder."
"And the shift in the numbers over the last weeks are because the mainstream Republican conservative [establishment] got suckered into the Larry Elder train," he continued. "The only thing that is relevant is 50% plus one vote to remove Gavin Newsom from office."
Bannon accused [Elder and] Republicans of "snatching defeat from the jaws of victory."
"And Larry Elder... said Joe Biden won the election and Trump didn't win." [https://www.rawstory.com/steve-bannon-larry-elder/]
The so-called conservative Epoch Times which is generally a good secular source of news has apparently decided to promote Francis Catholic Charlotte Allen's pro-abortion propaganda attack on the pro-life Texas Heartbeat Act which she called "the most draconian of all the recent state abortion restrictions" and she is claiming the Fox News promoted establishment Republican Larry Elders lost to Gavin Newsom because he is pro-life:
Adding to the apprehension is the most draconian of all the recent state abortion restrictions, the Texas Heartbeat Act, which went into effect on Sept. 1 and bans nearly all abortions once cardiac activity is detected in the fetus, usually at six weeks. Courts have struck down other state abortion bans, but the Supreme Court has so far let the Texas law stand because it contains procedural impediments to direct legal challenges by abortion providers. The Biden Justice Department has stepped in, however, and on Oct. 6 a federal judge granted the department’s request for a temporary injunction against enforcement of the Heartbeat Act...
... David Cole, a writer for Taki’s Magazine, argues that abortion alarm worked as a successful counter-strategy in the recent recall election for California’s Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom. Newsom was widely loathed for his oppressive pandemic policies, millions in fraudulent unemployment benefits paid during his tenure, and his inept handling of wildfire mitigation, but his chief Republican opponent, syndicated radio host Larry Elder, got talked into highlighting potential abortion restrictions as a campaign issue in a state that’s generally indifferent to the pro-life cause. “The biggest stumble of them all,” Cole wrote. Newsom beat the recall measure by a landslide. I am a Latino Californian who followed Elder on on Twitter and I never heard him once talk about the pro-life issues. Instead, he seemed to be constantly on Fox News pushing the establishment Republican talking points.
Many of the Newsom "fear-based' attacks on Elder were that he was anti-Hispanic as KQED reported which is in my opinion a main reason he why he lost:
But Itzel also said she felt offended by the three anti-recall spots paid for by Gov. Gavin Newsom's campaign — including one that claimed Republicans backing the recall were the same anti-immigrant politicians who support embedding microchips into immigrants. Trying to reach Latinos with fear-based messaging. [https://www.kqed.org/news/11888162/can-recall-ads-in-spanish-sway-latino-voters-two-families-weigh-in]
Getting back to Allen, she appears to be an anti-Traditionalist Catholic who is a big fan and apologist of Francis:
[... ]
Ironically, many conservative Catholics, who
disagree with liberals on practically everything else, actually agree
with their archenemies that Francis is poised to radically alter the
Catholic Church. A tweet from the group blog Rorate Caeli — so
arch-traditionalist that its banner consists of a photo of the last
pre-Second Vatican Council pope, Pius XII, who died in 1958 — asserted
that Francis may be “the Successor of St. Peter” but “he’s not the owner
of the Church or her doctrine.” On Fr. Z’s Blog, an Internet refuge for
Catholics fed up with having to sing folk songs at Mass instead of
Gregorian chants, a commenter wrote: “It’s insulting to be told we
Catholics who are fighting against the great evils of the day are
spending too much time on such things (you know, those mortal sin
things) and apparently are mean curmudgeons who aren’t nice enough to
people.” [https://www.latimes.com/opinion/op-ed/la-oe-allen-pope-francis-20130929-story.html]
On the Elder loss to Newsom, Steve Bannon put it best saying that Elder and the establishment "Republicans..."snatch[ed] defeat from the jaws of victory." A few weeks ago, the possibility of kicking out Newsom was a toss up then Elder entered the race big time and as Bannon said made it a contest between himself and Newsom.
Raw Story summarized Bannon's explanation of what happened in California:
Bannon made the remarks on his Real America's Voice program moments after California polls opened on Tuesday.

The liberal Guardian agreed with Bannon:
In the end, the threat of Elder in the governor’s mansion galvanized Democrats. To put things in context, Elder, who is black, has argued for reparations for slave owners. Let that sink in. [https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2021/sep/15/california-recall-republicans-larry-elder]
