Between the fall of Rome and the Protestant revolution most people were peasants without much, if any, private property. Not saying that’s a good thing but Capitalism did not exist for most of the Church’s existence. In fact, before most people dedicated their lives to accumulate wealth, God was most glorified.

I don’t know how we can go back to simpler times without an act of God. Men now think it proper to spend one’s whole time on earth to accumulate capital or amuse oneself.As for Marxists, they teach the same error in a different manner, that economics is all that matters.

The feudal system was the peasant family that had the property to live and work even though they had no possession. That was in the Middle Ages. But that era is seen as the "Dark Ages" by the enemies of the Church to this day.
