Why might Hyper-Francis is Definitely the Pope Catholics like Dr. Kwasniewski & Skojec be "Undergoing a Crisis of Faith"?

Skojec & Cronies “Refute” My Analyses of Reactionaries? | Dave Armstrong

Skojec & Cronies “Refute” My Analyses ...

- Doctor of the Church St. Francis de Sales totally confirmed beyond any doubt the possibility of a heretical pope and what must be done by the Church in such a situation:

- "[T]he Pope... WHEN he is EXPLICITLY a heretic, he falls ipso facto from his dignity and out of the Church, and the Church MUST either deprive him, or, as some say, declare him deprived, of his Apostolic See."
(The Catholic Controversy, by St. Francis de Sales, Pages 305-306)

- "Could Francis be a Antipope even though the Majority of Cardinals claim he is Pope?": http://www.thecatholicmonitor.com/2019/03/could-francis-be-antipope-even-though.html

 -  LifeSiteNews, "Confusion explodes as Pope Francis throws magisterial weight behind communion for adulterers," December 4, 2017:

The AAS guidelines explicitly allows "sexually active adulterous couples facing 'complex circumstances' to 'access the sacraments of Reconciliation and the Eucharist.'"

-  On February 2018, in Rorate Caeli, Catholic theologian Dr. John Lamont:

"The AAS statement... establishes that Pope Francis in Amoris Laetitia has affirmed propositions that are heretical in the strict sense."

- On December 2, 2017, Bishop Rene Gracida:

"Francis' heterodoxy is now official. He has published his letter to the Argentina bishops in Acta Apostlica Series making those letters magisterial documents."

In 2019, I wrote of Steve Skojec's apparent crisis of faith:

It appears that One Peter Five publisher Steve Skojec's infallible opinion that the Francis papacy cannot be invalid under any circumstances is leading him towards heresy.

Twitter, Skojec said to @JoshuaPotryus and @MikeJon:

"The problem is that infallibility appears to be tautological at best and borders on superstition at worst."

A example of a tautology is former Vice President Dan Quayle's:

"If we do not succeed, we run the risk of failure."

A possible Skojec tautology might go:

"If Francis is not a valid pope, we run the risk of Francis being a antipope" which may lead to this possible Skojec tautology:

"I believe Vatican I's papal infallibly teaching "appears... [to border] on superstition," so I accept as true that that infallible dogma "appears... [to border]" on being a unfounded belief."

It appears that Skojec's logic goes something like the following:

"Francis's papal validity is a 100% infallible belief and if anyone doubts it they are a schismatic therefore Vatican I's infallible teaching on papal infallibly "appears to be a tautological at best and borders on superstition at worst." [https://www.thecatholicmonitor.com/2019/09/is-skojecs-infallible-opinion-that.html]

Last year, a Patheos.com blogger wrote on the same subject:

"Obviously, neither Rod nor I nor anyone else can speak to the actual facts of that matter on the ground. What is clear is that Skojec is undergoing a crisis of faith." [https://www.patheos.com/blogs/youngfogey/2021/06/steve-skojec-christian-apologetics-and-the-problem-of-faith/]

In 2019, I wrote on the seeming strong faith of Open Letter signer :

The attacks on the Open Letter appear to show that most conservative Catholics, not all, are Semi-Modernists and appear to slowly be losing their faith in the same way they say a frog will boil to death if the heat in the stove under the pot is heated up slowly.

Open Letter signer  said it best:

"Just a few short years ago, everyone who considered himself a conservative was up in arms about Amoris Laetitia and skeptical of the elaborate rabbinical apparatus that attempted to square it with the Church’s perennial teaching. Now it’s as if they’ve given up; they shrug their shoulders and say, “I’m sure it’ll all be fine someday. It’ll come out in the wash. Put credentialed theologians and canonists on the case, and everything Francis says and does can be justified.” We strain the canonical gnats and swallow the doctrinal camel."

"It seems that many simply do not wish to confront the weighty and ever mounting evidence of the pope’s errors and reprehensible actions, of which the letter provided only a sample sufficient to make the case. This is not to say that Francis altogether lacks true words and admirable actions. It would be nearly impossible for someone to say false things or do bad things all the time. That is beside the point. It is enough for a pope to assert a doctrinal error only once or twice in a pontifical document, or to perform really bad acts (or omissions) of governance a few times, in order to merit rebuke from the College of Cardinals or the body of bishops, sharers in the same apostolic ministry. With Francis, however, there is a lengthy catalogue, with no sign of coming to an end. If this does not galvanize the conservatives into concerted action, one has to wonder — what would? Do they have a line in the sand? Or has papal loyalism dethroned faith and neutered reason?"

"Things that made everyone anxious just a few years ago are now taken in stride: now we all just live in a post-Bergoglian Catholic Church, where you can make exceptions about formerly exceptionless moral norms, give Communion to those living in adultery, and say God wills many religions as He wills two sexes, or — a point not addressed in the Open Letter — dismiss the witness of Scripture, Tradition, and Magisterium (trifecta!) on the death penalty. The frogs have grown accustomed to floating in ever hotter water and have decided to call it a spa."

Aka Catholic just said, of Dr. Kwasniewski's apparent hyper-Francis is definitely the pope Catholicism and its apparent faith consequences, the following:

Prior to March 13, 2013, I suspect that if one were to ask Dr. Kwasniewski  et al. about the status of a self-identified Catholic who publicly, repeatedly, and even in writing insists – with unmoving persistence in the face of multiple corrections – that the Divine Law is sometimes too hard for men to keep, that God sometimes wills adultery, and that it’s not always a mortal sin anyway, they would say that this person is engaging in precisely the sort of public adherence to heresy that “of its own nature” severs that man from the Body of the Church.

Likewise, if prior to the advent of the Bergoglian reign of terror one were ask these same persons about the status of a man who publicly engages in multiple high profile pagan ceremonies over a period of years, surely they would say that these are acts of apostasy that, of their own nature, sever a man from the Body of the Church.

And yet, even though Jorge Bergoglio has done all of these things and much more of their kind, Dr. Kwasniewski and his growing band of followers still insist that the Argentinian apostate remains a member of the Body of the Church.

Why, one wonders, do they feel compelled to give Jorge Bergoglio a plenary pass?

It’s certainly not because they do not recognize his heresy. In fact, Dr. Kwasniewski and a number of his con freres even went so far in 2019 as to sign their names to a well-publicized Open Letter accusing Jorge Bergoglio of “public adherence to heresy.”

And that was before Abu Dhabi, Pachamama, and Taditionis Cojones!

Why then do they continue to insist that Jorge Bergoglio remains a member of the Church, as if he cannot be held to the same standard for membership in the Church to which every other human being has consistently been held throughout the centuries?

The primary reason among several is plain; they are hyperpapalists...

... Simply put, Dr. Kwasniewski et al. do not believe what the Church has always taught concerning herself, the same repeated by Pope Pius XII as noted above.

Based upon my own interactions with hyperpapalists, Dr. Kwasniewski included, it seems rather clear that the only time they’re willing to trust that Holy Mother Church is not teaching false doctrine is when she does so in a manner that is properly understood as infallible. As for the countless Catholic doctrines that have been proposed non-infallibly – including those concerning the nature of the Church and the requirements of membership in her – all bets are off.

As such, the hyperpapalists believe that the faithful must measure whatever is being authoritatively proposed by the Church non-infallibly, whether by pope or by council, to determine for ourselves whether or not the teaching is perhaps dangerous and therefore open to rejection.

As the title to his most recent book suggests, Dr. Kwasniewski has even gone so far as to suggest that it’s time to “rethink the papacy” in light of the current “ecclesial disintegration.”

He apparently believes (with Francis as evidence) that the prayer of Our Lord Jesus Christ that Peter’s faith may not fail has indeed gone unanswered, even though the Vatican Council insists otherwise (see Pastor Aeternus). [https://akacatholic.com/hyperpapalism-is-real/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=hyperpapalism-is-real]

Here is a post from when I suspect Dr. Kwasniewski's seeming crisis of faith might have begun:

How many Dr. Kwasniewskis does it take to change a light bulb?

Two: One to change the light bulb and one to change it back.

How many thought polices does it take to screw a light bulb?

None: There never was any light bulb.

In the serious side, please pray for Dr. Peter Kwasniewski. I consider him to be a man of great learning and courage especially for signing the Open Letter.

One can only imagine the culture of fear that surrounds him which caused him to change a short Amazon review at least three times on Antonio Socci's book which just presents evidence that Pope Francis may be a Antipope.

Pray an Our Father now for the restoration of the Church and for Dr. Kwasniewski.

What does it take to turn he light bulb off?

Apparently all it takes is a phone call from Steve Skojec.

Skojec is invested very, very heavily in Bergoglio as Pope. He does not want to hear the arguments against him. He does not want anyone else to consider them or, worse, agree with the arguments against him...

Michael Dowd,

I have given Skojec money as well. I have followed him since his personal blogging days prior to 1P5. I communicated with him directly more than once, one time was a lengthy exchange shortly after the Bergoglio elevation marveling at such evel portent.

Why do I say this? Because Skojec will not broach interchange of ideas on the unprecedented (without precedent in the bi-millennial history of the Church since Christ’s elevation of Cephas) Emeritus sitting in the Vatican as “His Holiness”, still wearing his White his Piscatory Ring and bestowing Apostolic blessings, receiving Cardinals etc.

The Conclave depends upon a prior occupant’s death or valid resignation. Steve Skojec will not broach questions on this topic and demands the unprecedented be accepted as new binding precedent. Why?, I say. Where in Tradition am I bound to this?

I was banned, quite rudely, from ever commenting on his site again. When Professor Kwasniewski sees evidence to alter his view on this Emeritus reality, he gets a phone call from Skojec and changes his public views and get back in line. Many have had similar experience. I have seen it.

I see this elsewhere. Mundabor is another, where I have been banned. Call the Pope every name in the book (Evil Clown with demonic picture attached). Insult him and denigrate his every act and thought and deed. But never, never question the predicate act that placed such a man on St. Peter’s Throne, which Throne truly belongs to Jesus Christ, established as HIS Cornerstone.

That is why I say what I say about Steve Skojec. He clamps down on *any*, across all public forums, who dissent from the view that Jorge Bergoglio is a valid Pope and insist, or ask questions whether, his presence there is the product of an invalid, heretical predicate act; the mother of all heresies: a bifurcated Papacy.

If Jorge Bergoglio is Pope, then treat him as Holy Father. Don’t denigrate. Reverence him. Follow where the shepherd leads. If you can’t do that, then you must question why. If others can’t do that, engage them as broad shouldered Catholics and answer their questions. Do not shut down valid questions from Lay Faithful who see a departure from Sacred Tradition at its most basic, important level.

Coincidentally, Skojec emailed me the next day after the above post which began our very public debate on if Francis is definitely pope.

Pray an Our Father now for reparation for the sins committed because of Francis's Amoris Laetitia.

Pray an Our Father now for the restoration of the Church as well as the Triumph of the Kingdom of the Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Stop for a moment of silence, ask Jesus Christ what He wants you to do now and next. In this silence remember God, Father, Son and Holy Ghost - Three Divine Persons yet One God, has an ordered universe where you can know truth and falsehood as well as never forget that He wants you to have eternal happiness with Him as his son or daughter by grace. Make this a practice. By doing this you are doing more good than reading anything here or anywhere else on the Internet.
