Flashback - Obnoxious: "I think we now have some Idea why Taylor Marshall Dropped [Tim Gordon] like a Hot Potato"

Jorge Bergoglio on Twitter: "Another Milo Yiannopoulos interview with Tim Gordon… "

Fred this is just another example of the childish and petty nature of the "cancel culture".You are on spot in regard to why Taylor Marshal dropped this Gordon character. He is obviously a loose cannon. As Jesus said in the scripture if the world hates you know that it hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world it would love you as its own, but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world. Therefore the world hates you John:15(18-19) Take heart my brother and count it all joy. We must pray for the likes of Gordon and his minions.- Maria Ramirez

About a week ago or so, a writer friend texted telling me that I was being "trashed":

"Tim Gordon is being way beyond obnoxious! I think we now have some idea why Taylor Marshall dropped him like a hot potato."

Then, I got an email from a well known Catholic pundit telling me the same thing that Gordon and his friends on Tweeter were having a competition of  "nasty tweets" directed at me which had undertones of racism against the Mexican Fred Martinez.

Is Gordon a racist?

I want to say right now that I don't think Gordon is a racist. If I remember correctly, his wife is half-Mexican.

But, is Gordon obnoxious?

A better question to ask might be:

Is Fred Martinez obnoxious?

I can be very obnoxious at times. That's why I try to go to Confession every week.

I had hoped that Gordon might have gone to Confession after his moment of "nastiness." Then, when the Catholic Monitor comment section was invaded by the "nasty" Tim Gordon minions I started to wonder:

Why do Gordon Francis "Catholics" seem like "nasty" zombies?

I had to do some deleting.

I use "Catholics" in quotes because I wonder how can Catholics act that way and not go to Confession and repent with a firm amendment not to do it again.

But, I forgot they are Francis Catholics and may believe with their beloved Francis that adulterers don't need to go to Confession or repent of adultery and must be allowed to commit the sacrilege of being allowed to go to Communion in their sin.

(Note: I rarely delete, but any more unpleasant comments of the disciples of Tim Gordon will be deleted as soon as I am aware of them. So, don't waste your time posting. I sincerely feel sorry for you and am praying for you. Sadly, you apparently are a reflection of Gordon.)

Again, I ask:

Why do Gordon Francis "Catholics" seem like zombies?

Might it be a type of virtue signaling practiced by Francis Catholics?

British conservative Daniel Hannan said:

"Virtue signaling is competitive. When all your friends are anti-Trump, you have to go further."

After President Donald Trump took office the liberal virtue signaling was very competitive with them. They called him every name in the book with death threats as well as 12,000 Tweets for his assassination and the famous Kathy Griffin's beheading Trump photo.

The Gordon Francis Catholics like liberals are very competitive in their virtue signaling. Remember, when all your friends are anti-Fred Martinez, you have to go farther.

Now, we are seeing the Francis Catholic virtue signaling attacks on Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano.

Remember, when all your friends are anti-Vigano, you have to go farther.

Finally, it appears that Gordon is starting to gain quite a reputation for obnoxiousness. Laramie Hirsch posted this on his website:

"Milo [Yiannopoulos] shared a little tiff he had against Tim Gordon recently on his Telegram:

'I published Timothy Gordon’s first book, which was good—not great, not awful—and when he asked for his rights back, immediately gave them to him. He didn’t make any money with us and it seemed only fair as the company was collapsing and I wasn’t sure of our ability to maintain our catalogue. However, I was dismayed to see in his new book that despite exhortations about fighting together and so on, he never, ever actually NAMES the Catholics and culture warriors who were there for him.'

'To add insult to injury, he outright steals my motto, risus et bellum—originally derived from Chesterton but I’ve been deploying it promiscuously since 2015—with no attribution or acknowledgment at all. That’s grossly shitty behavior. I am sick of people who pretend to be on the front lines, but who are actually standing on their friends’ corpses.'" Stop for a moment of silence, ask Jesus Christ what He want you to do now and next. In this silence remember God, Father, Son and Holy Ghost - Three Divine Persons yet One God, has an ordered universe where you can know truth and falsehood as well as never forget that He wants you to have eternal happiness with Him as his son or daughter by grace. Make this a practice. By doing this you are doing more good than reading anything here or anywhere else on the Internet.

Francis Notes:

- Doctor of the Church St. Francis de Sales totally confirmed beyond any doubt the possibility of a heretical pope and what must be done by the Church in such a situation:

"[T]he Pope... WHEN he is EXPLICITLY a heretic, he falls ipso facto from his dignity and out of the Church, and the Church MUST either deprive him, or, as some say, declare him deprived, of his Apostolic See."
(The Catholic Controversy, by St. Francis de Sales, Pages 305-306)

Saint Robert Bellarmine, also, said "the Pope heretic is not deposed ipso facto, but must be declared deposed by the Church."

I was a regular viewer of Dr. Marshall and Tim Gordon. I increasingly found it distasteful and watched less and less. As I did so I realized my problem was Gordon not Taylor. I’m back regularly watching Taylor and finding his posts more and more valuable. I watched the Gordons a couple of times and found them to have, apparently, been unleashed from any Taylor influence toward true Catholicism. They are theological and verbal thugs. I knew Tim had had part of his education in Rome. But He never exhibited any understanding of tradition and faithful Catholicism. He either got a very poor education, or, even worse, a solely modernist one. The Gordon’s are nasty and, well, evil. Best thing that ever happened to Dr. Marshall was jettisoning Gordon. I just don’t understand what took him so long.

Are you a Mexican?

Well, that changes everything! And shame on you for using "Fred" instead of Jose or whatever!

Bear Rolls on Floor Laughing. Just wow. I like your work. I'm not in line with anybody--Bear's are like that--but you work hard and I get something out of what I read here.

The Bear can be nasty, too. I hate to get into personalities, but there was that weird email every Catholic blogger, even the disreputable Bear got, about so-and-so and such-and-such. Ya know, having suspended blogging for a couple of years, I have noticed a change since I just started back in desultory fashion, since I'm busy writing another disreputable novel). I was surprised at people saying something that wasn't a thing when I was blogging, not all that long ago--Pope Benedict eliminated the Papacy with this dodgy resignation to protect it from Jorge B. and all his successors in perpetuity.

What I am seeing is that there is a "certainty" desired--legitimately--by Catholics, and that need latches onto several different (and mutually exclusive, I might add) theories where Catholics have it all figured out. I'll write on my own blog, but, people, there is more to life, to the Church, to Christianity, and your eternal salvation than parsing B16's resignation letter. As you know, I am a lawyer, and not exactly a slouch in my niche. But I cannot speak with the certainty people want or need about who is Pope or isn't.

Sure, I wish Francis wasn't. I think he's a terrible pope, if he's pope. But he's a symptom, not the problem. Trads would hold up Pius XII, but read Mystici Corporis and see the little dark cloud of Lumen Gentium on the horizon. He's also the one who decided to "bring Catholic biblical scholarship up-to-date," i.e. in line with liberal Protestant scholars. It didn't start with Francis, or even V2, although these are the two HUGE problems. But explaining them away has become a cottage industry, and I fear many are losing sight of what really matters.

I like Dr. Marshall. His high wire act has me gasping at times. I just heard him saying how loyal he is to Francis and how much he luuuuvs, luvs, luvs him, but ya know (he continued) I love my 8 kids, too, and I correct them, and spouses call each other out.

Dr. Bear (Juris Doctor, after all) says arguments by analogy are always bad. Analogies are useful only to help explain something already established. And they're only as good as they are close to the thing they're explaining. Dr. Marshall has authority over his children. Some might go so far as to say he has authority over his wife, too, but the Bear is not sticking his nose into that wasp nest.

If you make your living criticizing the Church (I'm not buying all the fuzzy disclaimers) fine. But if he treats his wife and kids like he treats the Pope, someone should intervene. (I am suggesting no such thing, but pointing out why this is a lousy analogy--I am certain he is a good husband and father). At least the people who have it all worked out why Francis isn't really Pope (each secure in their own theory are consistent. If Francis isn't Pope, then "Fire when ready, Gridley." But if he is the Pope... At some point the old trick question, "When did you stop beating your Pope?" becomes fair.

Simply put: Is the Church hosed? Yes. By ANY indicator, just as by ANY indicator the WEST is hosed. Is Francis destructive? By ANY measure, yes. Is the US hosed? We're about six months away from the "failed state" category, so yes, by ANY measure. Can we blog our way out of this miss? HELL NO. What should Catholic bloggers be doing? Get off your hobby horses. Stop fighting. Where there are specific new problems, by all means, deal with them. But we should all be realizing that, as bloggers, we have a responsibility to help figure out what each reader might do to survive now. "Francis is Bad" is no longer news. We all know that. But, sadly, we all knows, deep in our hearts, what pulls traffic. And it's not how to set up ribbons in your LOTH.

The Bear said…
Oh, Bear is sorry, but who is Tim Gordon?
Fred Martinez said…
Thanks Bear. You always make me think and laugh.
