Unfortunately men, even men who claim to have Jesus as the Lord of their life, can deny reality. As a convert I treated religion as not just tribal group, but a personal relation with Ultimate Reality itself. I have no way else to explain why people defend Francis in spite of the new gospel he is preaching other than tribal considerations, to defend their leader. For if Francis teaches heresy it should be accepted as just the way it is, and we should look for an explanation rather than deny reality, like so many people do about their shots.

Truth can never contradict truth. If Jesus is God then truth should not scandalize. On the other hand if religion is your tribe then truth is scary because it might scandalized you from your society and must be rejected.
