"[Anti-Thomist] Francis Honors [Anti-Thomist] Prof. Jean-Luc Marion with one of World’s Top Theology Prizes"

A few days ago it was reported that Francis honored anti-Thomist theologian Jean-Luc Marion":

"Jean-Luc Marion... has been awarded the Ratzinger Prize for his lifetime achievements in theology."

The Francis honored "top theolog[ian]" Marion has attacked Doctor of the Church St. Thomas Aquinas' Catholic philosophical metaphysics in his book "God Without Being" and elsewhere:

"Marion writes 'God' crossed out, to show that the phenomenality of the biblical God, revealed above all in the Cross, is in constant contradiction with the idol-building proclivities of the human mind, of which metaphysics is one of the most impressive products.Dieu sans l'Etre was taken as an attack on Thomism, for which 'being' is the first of the divine names after the Tetragrammaton. On this point Marion has backtracked a little. He now claims that 'metaphysics', properly speaking, means only the modern onto-theo-logy that begins with Descartes, and that when Thomas Aquinas speaks of God as "being itself subsisting" (ipsum esse subsistens) he is close to Denys, for this God cannot be brought under the categories of metaphysics but exceeds them at every point. Apart from the implausibility of a definition of metaphysics that does not include Aristotle, I find it disappointing that Marion has not attempted to think through the tensions between his phenomenological approach to God and Thomas's metaphysical one. A phenomenological overcoming of the objectifying metaphysical horizons of Thomism remains one of the great tasks of contemporary theology..."

Scholar Graham Ward appears to say that the anti-Thomist is a postmodernist Heideggerian fideist:

"Marion's thesis situates... positing the trinitarian God... in distance, absence, the aporia, the anarchy which other postmodernist thinkers read as nihilism... "

"... In God Without Being, on the basis of a distinction (first declared by Heidegger) that the logic of philosophy and the logic of faith are irreconcilable." (The Modern Theologians, Page 332)

The book An Eerdmans Reader in Contemporary Political Theolog says of Marion's apparent teacher of "distinction[s]" in philosophy and theology that the Nazi philosopher Martin "Heidegger has his own resolution of the mystery: being is nothing, but is the continual presencing of absence in time." (Page 682)

The scholar Pablo Markin states that Francis appears to "departs from...Thomistic positions" in his "close" following of anti-Thomist Marion's teachings in his encyclical Amoris Laetitia:

Could Francis be an Antipope even though the Majority of Cardinals claim he is Pope?

Is it possible for someone to be an antipope even though the majority of cardinals claim he is pope?
