Bugnolo is not a "Never Trumper"

 - Updated July 24, 2020

On July 18, Alexis Bugnolo came into the Catholic Monitor comment section apparently accusing President Donald Trump of being for "the deep state":

If Trump is against the deep state, why did he not clean it out?
If Trump is against the Covid hoax and for Making America Great Again, why did he destroy the US economy with a lockdown_
If Trump is against Gates, why did he move 1.8 billion from WHO to Gavi?

And finally, if Trump did do all these things, why do you think his retweet of Vigano's letter means that both of them are not working for the deep state?

("Does the Francis/Soros Deep Church & Deep State want to "Eradicate" Vigano & Trump?") [http://catholicmonitor.blogspot.com/2020/07/does-francissoros-deep-church-deep.html?m=1]

On July 20, the Catholic Monitor did a post "Apparently Never Trumper Br. Bugnolo vs. Fr. VF & Catholic Monitor Readers" in which it said:

The From Rome editor, apparently a Never Trumper, Br. Alexis Bugnolo came into the Catholic Monitor comment section seemingly accusing those who support President Donald Trump of suffering "from group think."

The Monitor wrote "apparently a Never Trumper, Br. Alexis Bugnolo."  Merriam-Webster's definition of the word "apparently" is:

" [I]t seems apparent used to describe something that appears to be true based on what is known."

On the basis of Bugnolo's statement " if Trump did do all these things, why do you think his retweet of Vigano's letter means that both of them are not working for the deep state" it appeared to the Catholic Monitor that since he thinks "Trump... [is] working for the deep state" that "it seem[ed] apparent... to describe something that appears to be true based on what is known" that Bugnolo was "apparently a Never Trumper."

Today, the Monitor received a post in its comment section from Bugnolo stating despite his apparent statement that Trump is "working for the deep statethat he is not a "Never Trumper":

"To call me a Never Trumper is pure calumny and libel, as everyone who knows me can testify."

The Catholic Monitor apologizes to Br. Bugnolo for writing that he was "apparently a Never Trumper" because he apparently said Trump is "working for the deep state."

Here is a question I ask to assist anyone who is suffering from group think.

Try to be rational in your responses, and not lash out. Because to lash out is a sign you suffer from group think.
("Does the Francis/Soros Deep Church & Deep State want to "Eradicate" Vigano & Trump?") [http://catholicmonitor.blogspot.com/2020/07/does-francissoros-deep-church-deep.html?m=1]

The Monitor asked him these questions:

Fred Martinez said…
Are you saying in your theory that President Trump and Archbishop Vigano are working for the deep state?

According to your theory, was Archbishop Vigano working for the Obama deep state when he was working for Pope Benedict XVI?

According to the your theory, was Pope Benedict also working for the deep state?

Some Catholic Monitor readers responded to the Latinist saying Trump supporters suffered "from group think" with the following comments:

I think it is counterproductive to label the post as “groupthink”. That is what the left does with everything which it differs. So if the point being made is groupthink then it is by definition, misinformation, so then there is no further need for discussion.

Dear Brother, have you considered that there may be more than two possible worldviews: groupthink, or your own?

Thanks Justina. That was the best laugh I had all day. I'm still laughing as I write this.

I think it is uncharitable to label this post a 'groupthink'.
If all a pope appoints are not his allies, why don't we extend the same reasoning to a president?
If we argue that Trump didn't 'clean it(deep state) out',why don't we extend the same blame to the Church?
It seems to me that some tumours are not easily operable.

Finally, Fr. VF  directly responded to Bugnolo's questions:

"If Trump is against the deep state, why did he not clean it out?"

It has taken almost four years to get honest judges and other officials into place. Also, one of Trump's main strategies is to permit evildoers to continue to commit crimes--while being surveilled. Trump also knows that many more of the general public need to wake up before large numbers of "respectable" people (Bushes, Clintons, Soetoros) are arrested.

"If Trump is against the Covid hoax and for Making America Great Again, why did he destroy the US economy with a lockdown."

Trump respects our federalist system. Trump has shut down NOTHING, except travel to and from China and Western Europe. The shutting down of the American economy is 100% the work of the governors and mayors. Again, millions of people have been awakened by the vicious behavior of their Marxist governors and mayors, in contrast to patriotic governors and mayors. The general population almost universally understand that Andrew Cuomo (Satanist-NY) murdered about 6,000 people in New York nursing homes. Three other Satanist governors did the same thing to their people.

"If Trump is against Gates, why did he move 1.8 billion from WHO to Gavi?"

Define "against Gates." Is Trump taking Gates's advice? Is Trump treating Gates like a leper? Something in between? One thing is definitely happening: Word is spreading on social media that Gates is a "friend of Jeffrey" and a pedo. I think it's reasonable to expect that Gates will not be riding very high by 2025.
Pray an Our Father now for the restoration of the Church as well as the Triumph of the Kingdom of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Pray an Our Father now that God gives President Trump the grace to do His will in this present COVID hysteria crisis and to be reelected.

A very rude and bashing response against Br. Alexis Bugnolo, not very charitable, and you didn't even give him the possibility of doubt to look for yourself. He gave the order, to shut down the entire US Economy, when Fauci and Birx came into the Oval Office with the crooked numbers from the Imperial College Of Medicine London, see here https://www.conservativedailynews.com/2020/05/fauci-and-birx-told-trump-to-shut-down-the-economy/

What is Groupthink? Comes from William H Whyte Jr and Irving Janis, but it is also found in the book 1984 by George Orwell. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Groupthink

To say you suffer from Groupthink because of you following Trump, no matter what good or bad decisions he makes, is just pointing out what the two who studied this phenomenon.

His recommendation to wear a mask https://www.cnn.com/2020/04/03/politics/trump-white-house-face-masks/index.html and to mobilize the US Army to distribute the Vaccine, https://thehill.com/policy/defense/497863-trump-says-hes-mobilizing-military-to-distribute-potential-coronavirus-vaccine

Br. Alexis just says to think for yourself, not blindly follow, as the children rhythm goes about the 7 Blind Mice. God gave us a fine brain, an intellect and will to know and act on truth, it is time we use it to know and follow Truth, no matter where it leads or how uncomfortable it might make us. I rather follow Truth. Oh, you called him Anti-Latin Mass and Pro Islamic, he loves the Latin Mass and he is the President of a Corporation who is founded to defend Persecuted Christians from Islamic Jihadists, as Our Lord commanded, "There is no greater love than this, that you should lay down your life for a friend."

If you want to help, then speak about Persecuted Christians and the Terrorism they face, we do it every Monday at Ordo Militaris Radio TV.

Voice of My Ancestors,

I find your comment to be a "very rude and bashing response against [the Catholic Monitor], not very charitable, and you didn't even give [it] the possibility of doubt to look for yourself."

Moreover, "Jonah said [of]...

Br. Bugnolo,

What you refer to as "group think" is far more insidious and debilitating than your term denotes. The American people and their vassals have been subjected to a mind-destroying campaign of social control that only the grace of God can free them from:

Voice of My Ancestors, can you expand on why Br. Bugnolo, Jonah and you apparently agreed with E. Michael Jones' Culture Wars magazine pro-Islamic and anti-Traditional Latin Mass theories?

Responding to my 3 questions in this way, I believe amply demonstrates my concern for your soul.

I pray that one day you may understand that.

Voice of My Ancestors, I strongly disagree that Brother Bugnolo only says to think for yourself. This disagreement is not based solely on his comments here, but also on other combox experiences I have had, including on his own site. The Bugnolo movement is not about encouraging faith-enlightened rationality as you allege, but about riding roughshod over anyone who doesn't toe his line--as your own imperious tone here at the Catholic Monitor also indicates. And while we're at it, where did the four extra mice come from, anyway?

"Exorcist Fr. Ripperger is asking everyone to say this Prayer until the Election is Resolved"

A good friend of the Catholic Monitor got this from a group message. She said "exorcist Fr. Chad Ripperger is asking everyone to say this prayer until the election is resolved": Prayer of Command In His Name and by the power of His Cross and Blood, I ask Jesus to bind any evil spirits, forces and powers of the earth, air, fire, or water, of the netherworld and the satanic forces of nature.  By the power of the Holy Spirit and by His authority, I ask Jesus Christ to break any curses, hexes, or spells and send them back to where they came from, if it be His Holy Will.  I beseech Thee Lord Jesus to protect us by pouring Thy Precious Blood on us (my family, etc.), which Thou hast shed for us and I ask Thee to command that any departing spirits leave quietly, without disturbance, and go straight to Thy Cross to dispose of as Thou sees fit.  I ask Thee to bind any demonic interaction, interplay, or communications.  I place N. If Kamala Harris' Father is part White & part Jamaican African and her Mother is Asian-Indian then is she really Black?

Is Joe Biden's running mate really Black? If Kamala Harris' father is part white and part Jamaican African and her mother is Asian-Indian then is she really Black? Reason.com tries to figure it out: Kamala Harris, Joe Biden's pick to be the Democratic Party's vice-presidential nominee, is the daughter of an Indian immigrant mother and a Jamaican immigrant father. Her father, as I understand it, has ancestors of both European and African origin. [Welcome new Volokh readers. FYI, I've been working on a book on the American Law of Race, with this forthcoming article the first relevant output. My own opinion is that Ms. Harris should be deemed American, period, but there is no such box on government forms, and if you decline to state your race, someone will decide for you… First things first. There is no multiracial or mixed-race category in American law in any jurisdiction. Nor is there an Indian category. So Harris cannot be legally Indian, nor can she b

Bishops of Colorado gave an apparent Vaxx "Exemption" Letter & Stated: "Vaccination is Not Morally Obligatory and so Must Be Voluntary"

Today, the bishops of Colorado gave an apparent Vaxx " exemption" letter (21_8_Vaccine_Exemption_CCC_Fin...docx(20KB)) and stated that "Vaccination is Not Morally Obligatory and so Must Be Voluntary":  COLORADO CATHOLIC CONFERENCE 1535 Logan Street | Denver, CO 80203-1913 303-894-8808 | cocatholicconference.org [Date] To Whom It May Concern, [Name] is a baptized Catholic seeking a religious exemption from an immunization requirement. This letter explains how the Catholic Church’s teachings may lead individual Catholics, including [name], to decline certain vaccines. The Catholic Church teaches that a person may be required to refuse a medical intervention, including a vaccination, if his or her conscience comes to this judgment. While the Catholic Church does not prohibit the use of most vaccines, and generally encourages them to safeguard personal and public health, the following authoritative Church teachings demonstrate the principled religious
