"Gaslighting"?: "Visiting Trad priest...lecture on how dare WE hold possible resentment in our hearts toward Bergoglio & how dare WE hold Prevost in 'suspicion'...imagine if a soul in that audience...had suffered sexual abuse at the hands of those Bergoglio covered up for & the priest said, 'get over it'"

Interestingly, I had no idea that the term gaslighting actually comes from a play and film called Gas Light, originally made in England and later reproduced in the United States in a movie starring Charles Boyer and Ingrid Bergman. Here’s the original trailer from 1944:
The film centers around a husband trying to manipulate his wife into believing that she is going insane so that he can steal her inheritance, switching the gas lights around in their home to exacerbate her self-doubt (hence the term “gaslight”). “Gaslight” comes to be a synonym for psychological manipulation. A Catholic diocese in northern Peru is alleged to have paid $150,000 to silence critics of its former bishop and now leading candidate for Pope, Cardinal Robert Prevost.
That’s according to a report in Madrid-based InfoVaticana, which describes itself as “a free and independent means of information that has the vocation of serving the Catholic Church and society.” [https://globebanner.com/stories/671154673-report-critics-of-pope-favorite-prevost-received-150k-to-remain-silent]
The following is an email from a Catholic Monitor reader:
I was not expecting the entire homily from this visiting trad priest to be a lecture on how dare WE hold possible resentment in our hearts toward Bergoglio and how dare WE hold Prevost in “suspicion”. This priest, and while I had seen him before and genuinely believe he takes his pastoral duties seriously, just made me CRINGE. Never before had I been so irked during a homily where I wanted to stand up and say, “I object”, several times, but I held my “peace” for the sake of reverence before the tabernacle ( I did mutter under my breath, though…). But I assure you, I felt a righteous anger. And here’s why: It dawned on me that those who have purposely set themselves up as enemies of God, and not just Bergoglio but many of his cronies, get MORE COMPASSION, PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING than the VICTIMS.
Just imagine if a soul in that audience on Sunday had suffered sexual abuse at the hands of those Bergoglio covered up for and the priest said, “get over it, JUST FORGIVE”. Do you know the scandal that the victim would experience in hearing that? THERE IS NO JUSTICE. Spiritually the bride of Christ, the Church, and her children (the flock) have been battered and beaten for YEARS (going back to Vatican II of course, but we’re at the apex now) and WE are the ones being shamed for the abuse we received all the while the one who did the abusing are given a jolly pass? It reminds me of the attitude of… “well, maybe YOU did something to deserve it.”
Permission to make an analogy? Imagine you are a wife, with children, and while your husband is gone for the day, your home is raided by a thief who not only intended to rob you, but move in and pretend to be your husband. For fear or safety, the children might comply, and the wife will try to put on a brave face for the SAKE of the children, but a faithful wife doesn’t just sit passively back and let someone take her spouse’s place. She would be willing to fight, and die to do what is right. She fights to protect her home and children. How do you think a faithful husband would react to the thief when he comes home?
a.) Shakes his hand and becomes friends.
b.) Takes out a whip and CASTS HIM OUT.
Now apply that to the Church and the flock. The wife is Holy Mother Church and her children are the flock of Christ. Do you really think Our Lord, Husband of the Church, in His perfect JUSTICE would not defend His bride and sheep? Can you imagine Him instead saying to Holy Mother Church, “well… did you leave the door unlocked? This was YOUR fault.” OF COURSE NOT. It’s laughable. What we see today is a warped Stockholm Syndrome toward murders and robbers. It ironically reminds me of the Biden presidency when illegal aliens were crossing the border and raping and killing young women, and the only thing the media, and the democrats, were concerned with were not the death of the victim, or the crime committed, but that “we should not be calling them ALIENS.” Our biggest concern is that we might have offended the KILLER? Give
me an absolute break. Take that and apply it to Bergoglio. Can we pause for a moment and relive what Jorge Bergoglio permitted to happen to Pope Benedict’s body during his 2023 funeral?
After Pope Benedict’s body was moved into St. Peter’s Basilica in the very early morning darkness of Monday, January 2nd, and under the okay of Bergoglio, Cardinal Gambetti, archpriest of the Basilica, ordered all of the lights to be turned off and the Basilica emptied and closed until the next morning. He wanted Pope Benedict’s body to lie exposed on the bier, alone, in the dark, unattended, during the overnight hours for the three days of Pope Benedict lying in state in the Basilica. BUT THE SWISS GUARDS WOULD NOT LEAVE POPE BENEDICT ALONE UNATTENDED. Even when they were told they wouldn’t be paid and they were still expected to work their other shifts (perhaps without much sleep), they refused to leave Papa Ratzinger. That’s what I call Divine Intervention right there.
Why is nobody talking about THAT? For a Holy Father to be treated which such ABUSE and disrespect by the WOLVES and yet, it’s still these very wolves we are defending? I’m just over it. I’m ready to flip tables. Where’s the whip?My reaction to people showing sympathy for abusers over victims is this: “how pathetic”. It’s so utterly non sensical and UNBIBLICAL. When God the Father saw His people unjustly persecuted, He sent down fire. And it’s time we stop pretending that His perfect justice isn’t linked to His perfect mercy.
Here is what I want to pose to you, dear readers: since when did we hold hands with and have sympathy for the abusers? The thieves, robbers and murders? And most importantly, when and why did we start shaming the victim (i.e. The True Church and flock)? I have been told that Jorge Bergoglio is so persecuted and disrespected, and I ask, how? If victims of any sort of abuse, did not receive justice, and so their only hope was that Christ, the Just Judge will be their Advocate, only to find that Our Lord wouldn’t deliver a fair verdict, is unthinkable. Imagine the horror the victim would experience which would likely lead to scandal and turning away from God all together. It’s not at all “meet and just” and anyone with a shred of common sense, or decency, should recognize that and not find fault with it. According to Novus Ordo Watch, Bergoglio allegedly REFUSED the sacraments before death and if that is indeed true then he committed the grave sin committed against the Holy Ghost of refusing final repentance. And may I remind you, sins against the Paraclete are unforgivable.
To that priest on Sunday: don’t lecture we flock that we NEED to pray for Jorge Mario Bergoglio as an act of “charity” (their definition of charity is also so fake and cringe) that he make it to heaven… when he clearly didn’t want to go there. And don’t shame us into NOT MISSING BEING ABUSED. The papacy and the Church have been in chains, so to speak, since 2013, and Christ the King being a very good Husband and Invisible Head will not stand for “thieves and robbers” to abuse His Father’s “house of prayer”. One of my all time favorite memes that I have taped in my Saint Andrew’s Mass Missal is Our Lord chasing Jorge Bergoglio, the trafficker, out with a whip. It’s not a sin to want to be free from bondage. The Israelites cried “deliver us”. Our Lord doesn’t enjoy our inprisonment. It’s why we pray at every Low Mass for “the liberty and exaltation of Our Holy Mother the Church” and is also why we read:
Shake thyself from the dust, arise, sit up, O Jerusalem: loose the bonds from off thy neck, O captive daughter of Sion. Isaiah 52:2
We can absolutely judge Bergoglio’s actions and not miss his abuse, and while I have no hatred in my heart, of “I hope he is burning in hell” like that priest assumed- though Jorge did not believe in hell, and likely is experiencing otherwise-my honest to Mary reaction was one of relief when he his “pontificate” ended. I’ll never forget the deluded look on this prelate’s face and tone of voice on Sunday when he said, “people are gloating over his death” (gloating and relief are two different things, your reverence) and “I don’t know about you but I WANT him to be in heaven” (cry me a river, Father. Where are the violins 🎻 ?) and he said it in such a way that he made us try to feel guilt and shame (which he didn’t succeed in making me feel) for not taking his high and mighty approach. This is when my good friend who runs this website said, “we are being gaslit”.
Which is a perfect time to introduce my comparison to one of my all time favorite films: 1944’s Gaslight starring Ingrid Bergman. The long and short of the story is Paula (played by Bergman) is systematically driven out of her mind by her husband who essentially holds her captive. He, the abuser, makes her believe overtime that she has lost her mind. The term “gaslight” comes from this movie! I will end with a scene that stood out to me in the film. Paula as I said is essentially held prisoner by her husband Gregory and there is an evening where he tells her he is going to let her out of the house. The utter joy she displays for this ONE small act of kindness was disturbing to say the least. But that is because victims of gaslighting are often starved of any kind of normalcy and when they experience even a small dose of it, they are ecstatic. I heard someone share the other day how overjoyed they were that Prevost “genuflected before the tabernacle.” Guys, you do realize that you sound like captives just trying to cling on to any kind of goodness or NORMALCY? It’s sadly quite pathetic to witness as an outsider.
Pray an Our Father now for reparation for the sins committed because of Francis’s Amoris Laetitia.
Pray an Our Father now for the restoration of the Church.
Stop for a moment of silence, ask Jesus Christ what He wants you to do now and next. In this silence remember God, Father, Son and Holy Ghost – Three Divine Persons yet One God, has an ordered universe where you can know truth and falsehood as well as never forget that He wants you to have eternal happiness with Him as his son or daughter by grace. Make this a practice. By doing this you are doing more good than reading anything here or anywhere else on the Internet.

Francis Notes:
– Doctor of the Church St. Francis de Sales totally confirmed beyond any doubt the possibility of a heretical pope and what must be done by the Church in such a situation:
“[T]he Pope… WHEN he is EXPLICITLY a heretic, he falls ipso facto from his dignity and out of the Church, and the Church MUST either deprive him, or, as some say, declare him deprived, of his Apostolic See.”
(The Catholic Controversy, by St. Francis de Sales, Pages 305-306)
Saint Robert Bellarmine, also, said “the Pope heretic is not deposed ipso facto, but must be declared deposed by the Church.”
