No, Pope Francis has not actually said that the Church can offer blessings for same-sex unions. He has not said that. But at this late date, can anyone still doubt that’s what he thinks—and that it is only a matter of time until he makes it official? After meeting with the Pope on October 17, Sister Jeannine Gramick thanked the pope for doing so. Is she deceived about the Pope’s intentions? Is she deceiving us? Or is she properly recognizing the Pontiff as an ally?

So it's "critically important," is it, to read the DDF's statement carefully?  To put it in context?  To ignore silly headlines?

When we do endeavor to read the DDF's new godparent guidelines carefully, we find precisely the kind of clumsy cunning which has given rise to the term "weaponized ambiguity" in the first place.  The reason for this now threadbare strategy is so that the Revolution's useful idiots will be afforded the opportunity to do its work for it, exactly as we find them doing here at the National Catholic Register.

When we look for the context in which this DDF statement is to be understood, we find the infamous and Orwellian "Synod on Synodality" and the canning of Bishop Strickland.  Once again, the Peronist in white signals right and turns left, a pattern which should hardly need to be pointed out at this late stage in the game.  Citing quotes from him flatly contradicting, in theory, his own undisputed actions should serve to confirm the nefariousness of the Bergoglian agenda, not to whitewash it.

And as for the Register warning against silly headlines, we have entered the precincts of the Babylon Bee.  The silliest of all possible headlines lampoons itself, more effectively than any satirist ever could.  The whole phenomenon would be hilariously funny, if the craven, self-serving sellout of the Wormtongue media outlets which could have chosen to remain Catholic was not, in reality, so terribly sad.
