The Catholic Monitor has been reporting that Dr. Wolfgang Wodarg who is a German physician, pulmonary specialist, and epidemiologist has been saying the above for a few years. He was also a member of the German parliament and later the Council of Europe where he served as the president of a subcommittee on health.
In March 2020, Dr. Wodarg brought forward the scientific evidence that the PCR test used to verify Coronavirus (COVID) could be flawed and even possibly dubious in results which basically could falsely be claiming a virus is Coronavirus when it's another virus.

It appears that Dr. Wodarg was proven right. The Coronavirus PCR tests that were quickly accepted by the apparent Communist Chinese operative World Health Organization (WHO) which caused the supposed panicked urgency by giving not only possibly false positives, but wrongly identifying flu-like symptoms as COVID-19.
On March 17, 2020, in Germany there was real debate between pulmonologist specialist Dr. Wodarg and the website which is called Mimikana.
The website presents Dr. Wodarg's position as the Coronavirus "is not statistically as exceptional as it is presented: Without tests, nobody would notice that SARS-CoV-2 existed at all... The media claims that the Coronavirus is "highly contagious" (which most people such as my pastor apparently believe) are not verified by science.
Live Science says how contagious a illness is measured by RO which means "the average number of people who catch a virus":

To better understand what Dr. Wodarg says, one must know the peculiarities of the PCR method. Dr. Wodarg's arguments go further and, based on his years of experience, include important epidemiological aspects. We are only referring to the aspect of PCR.
Dr. Wodarg came under heavy attack for criticizing the measures of the German government. Wrong, because these are valid arguments that reasonable people would have checked before (!) Making a decision. There is no reason to discredit these arguments later, because it was believed that a discussion was not necessary and that the measures taken by politicians are now too drastic for further criticism.
This is our central critique of current biomedicine: much of biomedicine lives on assumptions that are sometimes not even plausible. The consensus on a presumption regularly supersedes the scientific evidence in biomedicine.
Attacks of this type, like those made against Dr. Wodarg, are well known for other topics, for example, the opioid crisis in the US and the discussion of glyphosate. They are always driven by the desire not to allow scientific discourse on convenient (and generally profitable) assumptions. Attacking the person replaces the argument and at the same time deters others. Due to the reliance on reviewers for their own research proposals, hardly anyone in the ongoing research business can afford to represent controversial positions contrary to a presumption of consensus.
The suppression of criticism violates any scientific standard and is never in the interest of the patient.
The peculiarity of the PCR method is that it can only find what one is looking for. This is different from, for example, the light microscope, which amplifies everything that reflects light at the same time! PCR searches with so-called primers. There are always two of them, one forward and one backward. They are single strands of DNA 20 to 40 bases long, so pretty short. (If RNA is sought, it must first be translated into DNA in the sample. The resulting cDNA is then analyzed with PCR).
At room temperature, DNA consists of a poorly reactive double strand (outside the cell). DNA is duplicated using the enzyme DNA polymerase (the P in PCR). The cell does this during cell division. So you have 2 double chains.
This is the PCR cycle: increasing the temperature divides the double strand into 2 single strands. Now the primers can be docked in their complementary positions. Namely, the forward primer on one strand and the reverse primer on the other (complementary) strand. In a (very) short piece, you now have a double strand consisting of a single strand of the sample and a primer. This step determines the specificity of the PCR. Are the primers coupled or not?
The sample is now cooled and the DNA polymerase spreads these short pieces along the respective single strand incorporating base molecules from the medium. So you have two full double chains again. You can now repeat the step (cycle), i.e. increase the temperature again to split the double strand, allow the primer to dock, cool and extend the primer along the single strands, etc. to generate 4 strands DNA doubles, 8, 16, etc. (this CR in PCR - chain reaction).
PCR is ultra-sensitive, meaning it can detect absurdly low levels of DNA. On the other hand, it is only moderately specific in that PCR amplifies everything that primers can dock. That's the curse of the PCR method.
On the one hand, the purity of the sample plays a role. Is the DNA to be examined sufficiently purified or is there any residue of other DNA? These residues can also come from neighboring species, that is, from other virus strains that have not been sufficiently eliminated in the sample preparation. On the other hand, the base sequence of the primers does not determine by itself the coupling of the primers, although it is an essential factor, but the electronic structure of the primers.
The so-called gold standard is also required, that is, a method independent of PCR to show that PCR amplifies the correct thing. These are usually serological tests, but they are difficult to apply for viruses because viruses are sometimes difficult to culture and isolate. For this reason, in recent years, also due to the lack of alternatives, the PCR has been declared its own gold standard. This is extremely questionable.
However, PCR is not so nonspecific as to be able to amplify any strand of DNA, but there must be a sufficient match with the primers. If the same sample is looked at with other primers, another strand of DNA is (if there is sufficient match) amplified.
Most of the time an attempt is made to avoid these problems by using several different primer pairs, which are supposed to dock at different places in the DNA to be examined. It becomes difficult if there are pathogenic and harmless viruses in a sample, which may have similar gene sequences. Were the primers specific enough or did the harmless viruses cross-react with the primers for the (presumably) dangerous viruses?
Often times, only guesswork helps here. If you ask the manufacturers, you usually get the statement that the primers purchased are very, very specific.
With regard to cross-reactions, it should also be noted that these reactions are often excluded on the basis of the laboratory samples that have just been used to develop the assay. This is based on the powerful assumption that the virome in the rest of the world looks exactly the same as in the laboratory. That is highly questionable.
Note 1: The topic of cross-reactions in PCR tests is often minimized, as most of the publications come from the manufacturers themselves. It has been like this for 20 years. And it's particularly bad with WHO-recommended PCR protocols. WHO seems never to have heard the word cross-reaction.
Note 2: PCR cannot detect if viruses are neutralized by antibodies. PCR also cannot detect whether viruses are capable of reproducing. Generally, it is only fragments of the viral genome that are amplified by PCR.
Note 3: whether or not something is found by PCR has nothing to do with the question whether the species in question, to which the examined DNA (RNA) belongs, is the cause of the disease.
Note 4: PCR diagnostics is a billion dollar market.
Now for comments on the criticism of COVID-19 by Dr. Wolfgang Wodarg, MD.
1) Selective measurements of the sick and critically ill
The influence of the deployment of the new WHO measurement method (= new primers) is currently being measured in the case numbers. This is because most of the measurements are still from sick or critically ill people and the least from healthy or symptom-free people. Therefore, the mortality rate attributed to SARS-CoV2 is high. The new figures from China are well below the value given by the WHO.
2) Search with PCR for SARS-CoV2
Every year there are waves of viruses with a seasonal peak in winter. The classic corona viruses are involved in 5 - 15% of cases, eg.

You can look them up because you know what PCR primers should look like.
But these viruses also mutate and change. This means that there are slightly different corona viruses each year. For one thing, SARS-CoV2 PCR primers have not been searched in the past, because they did not exist. This means that no SARS-CoV2 could be found or assigned to the SARS-CoV2 primers.
On the other hand, PCR also causes cross-reactions between different coronavirus strains, so it is not known exactly what has been measured and assigned to the PCR primers used at that time.
Nobody knows what the set of all corona viruses looks like. That is, no one can tell if SARS-CoV2 has not existed before, because no one looked for it with SARS-CoV2 primers or if SARS-CoV2 was measured with other (classical) primers due to cross-reactions. It is naive to think that biomedicine knows exactly what is in cells. It is far from that.

3) Zoonotic hypothesis
PCR cannot prove that SARS-CoV2 is new. And the meaning of the genetic distance between two types of virus is completely open. For the zoonotic hypothesis of SARS-CoV2, which is important for greater pathogenicity (no time for adaptation), there is not the slightest proof, only guesswork.
There is also the question of why> 85% of confirmed cases show no symptoms or only mild symptoms in case of a new pathogen. This suggests that much of the population is adapted to the pathogen, which speaks against a new pathogen.
What protects these people? Antibodies against classic coronaviruses? They cannot have antibodies to the new virus.
The fact that homologous gene sequences have been found all over the planet in just a few weeks (!) Is not proof of zoonosis either. On the contrary, if the virus spreads so easily, why aren't the infection numbers much higher? It can be argued that the virus had time to spread. In Wuhan, the new primers were only used to measure first.
4) Cause of symptoms
There are a variety of viral pathogens that can cause mild or severe respiratory illnesses, for example flu viruses. In all cases, this would have to be verified with the PCR, or better not, to exclude it. However, if only SARS-CoV2 is searched with PCR, only SARS-CoV2 will be found or assigned. It cannot be said whether it is (exclusively) the cause of the respiratory disease. The flu virus continues to exist. You cannot tell from fever or cough which pathogen it was. Molecular diagnosis is difficult. This is also because quantification of viral load with PCR is very error prone. The tremendous sensitivity of PCR can amplify even the smallest amounts, a few viruses per ml. These are such small amounts that they cannot be associated with any acute symptoms.
Determining the cause of a disease is usually a very complex process that involves a deep and controversial discussion before agreeing (!) On what the current state of science is. At least it should be like this. With SARS-CoV2 it took a few weeks. It gives the impression that one has been waiting for years for a second chance for SARS.
The mood in biomedicine is like this. Anything that seems dangerous or fatal prompts the investigation. And research is always good. Can you ever know enough? However, instead of creating knowledge, it is often enough to reach a consensus free of contradictions. That doesn't bother anyone as long as the investigation flows with billions and profits.
It does not matter that healthy people also carry many different viruses, some with vital tasks (human virome). Nor does it matter that many types of viruses and strains are not pathogenic. To differentiate, one simply assumes ultra-specific methods. Dr. Drosten, the (co) discoverer of SARS, has benefited disproportionately from these circumstances in the past.
Scientific standards exist for good reason. And haste does not produce quality. Science, and with it politics, is lagging behind. There it is easier to discredit valid arguments as fake news.
