Today, LifeSiteNews reported that Bishop Athanasius Schneider is "call[ing] [the] faithful to pray for Pope Francis to ‘convert’" apparently to the Catholic faith:
"[We] cry to God that, through the powerful intercession of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, who in Fatima said that people should stop offending God, who is already too offended, Pope Francis may convert and retract formally his approval for the civil same-sex unions." The Catholic Monitor thanks Bishop Schneider for going farther than almost all bishops except for Bishop Rene Gracida in calling for a retraction from Francis. But, why can't he issue a Formal Correction of Francis's false teaching?
The Medieval Pope John XXII tentatively taught a heresy on a relatively minor point on when people received the beatific vision.
The French King Philippe de Valois not being a timid rabbit wasn't afraid to issue a
correction against heresy with a warning:
"Philippe de Valois... threatened John XXII with burning at the stake, as a heretic."
(On History: Introduction to the History (1831), By Jules Michelet, Page 126)
If King de Valois were alive today would he with a correction have
"threatened" Francis for his false teaching with
"burning at the stake, as a heretic"?
Why can't Bishop Schneider follow the French king's example by issuing a
Formal Correction to Francis for his false teaching without
the "burning at the stake, as a heretic" part?
Why is the once talked about Formal Correction of Francis by Cardinal Raymond Burke and the faithful Catholic media now unmentionable?
Why is even discussing the possibility of an imperfect council and/or a cardinal and bishop investigation into the Francis conclave and Pope Benedict XVI resignation now unmentionable?
Pray an Our Father now for the restoration of the Church as well as for the Triumph of the Kingdom of the Sacred Heart of the Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
