Most Catholics don't know that Archbishop Oscar Romero is beloved by the so-called conservative Opus Dei (OD) which can be verified one a quick google of Oscar Romero and Opus Dei.
Crux reported that the archbishop was a disciple of OD according to Romero's former secretary Jesus Delgado who was "expelled from the priesthood" for "charges of sexual abuse."
Delgado, according to Crux, said:
"[T]he books on Opus Dei Romero owned were well-thumbed."
(Crux, "On Romero and Paul VI and their surprising affinity for Opus Dei," October 14, 2018)
Unlike Opus Dei, the Society of St. Puis X (SSPX) and apparently even conservative Catholics remained "uneasy about his connection with Liberation Theology... Some of Romero's fellow Latin American bishops even considered Archbishop Romero a 'cryto-Communist.'"
(SSPX.org, "Is Romero a martyr of the Faith," February 6, 2015)
Might the so-called conservative Opus Dei and conservative Catholic news outlets that collaborate with it be angry with SSPX because they wrote that some Latin American bishops thought Romero was a "crypto-Communist"?
One of Opus Dei's top conservative Catholic media promoters is pundit Michael Voris.
The organization that Gary Michael Voris founded is actually called Saint Michael's Media of which ChurchMilitant.com produces video programs for according to Wikipedia.
Maybe Voris should change the name of his organization to Saint Romero's Media since it apparently never investigated that Archbishop Romero's former secretary was a sex abuser.
Pray an Our Father now for the restoration of the Mass and the Church as well as for the Triumph of the Kingdom of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
