Was Vic Morrow of the TV series Combat a Hero?

Stop for a moment of silence, ask God what He want you to do next. Make this a practice. By doing this you are doing more good than reading anything here or anywhere else on the Internet. I finished watching the released first season of Vic Morrow’s TV series Combat on DVD. It shows the honor and goodness that our culture still had in the 60’s. Morrow’s character the Sarge is to this day, for me, an image of what a hero should be. Tough and courageous, but compassionate. Vic Morrow played the hero and on the set he was a hero. The assistant director of Combat Michael Caffey in the audio commentary for the Combat DVD had this to say about Morrow: “He was very nice person. He never yelled at anyone...He was very quiet when he had something to say... He had a 104 temperature in one show. He was there. He should have been in the hospital. It’s a wonder it didn’t kill him. He was just tremendous. He reached down into a tank and pulled someone out in one show and got a double hernia. So they...

Prayer to Dissolve Effects of Horoscopes and Ouija Boards

Spiritual Warfare Prayer – by Father Robert DeGrandis, S.S.J. Heavenly Father, I love You, I praise You, and I worship You. I thank You for sending Your Son Jesus Who won victory over sin and death for my Salvation. I thank You for sending Your Holy Spirit Who empowers me, guides me, and leads me into fullness of life. I thank you for Mary, my Heavenly Mother, who intercedes with the Holy Angels and Saints for me. Lord Jesus Christ, I place myself at the foot of Your Cross and ask You to cover me with Your Precious Blood which pours forth from Your Most Sacred Heart and Your Most Holy Wounds. Cleanse me, my Jesus, in the Living Water that flows from Your Heart. I ask You to surround me, Lord Jesus, with Your Holy Light. Heavenly Father, let the healing waters of my Baptism now flow back through the maternal and paternal generations to purify my family line of Satan and Sin. I come before You, Father, and ask forgiveness for myself, my relatives, and my ancestors, for any calling upon p...

Top 13 Catholic Spirituality Books

My Favorite Catholic Spirituality Books A Listmania! list by Amanda Rose (Florida) The list author says: "I am a Catholic convert who was delighted to find the immense and almost secret treasure box of the Church - saints, mysticism, intellectualism, simplicity, common-sense advice, moral values, and a complete array of ways to achieve happiness through Christ. Struggling day by day to remain faithful, accept the love of Christ, act mercifully, and keep moving along the Little Way to Heaven. I write spiritual reflections at www.LittleStepsAlongTheWay.com." 1. Divine Intimacy by Father Gabriel of St. Mary Magdalen The list author says: "My favorite book ever! Covering the entire liturgical year, beginning each day’s reading with a short phrase/prayer to help to place oneself into the presence of God. There are two points for meditation, intended to be for two prayer periods, but can be utilized as the Spirit leads you. Ending is a Colloquy provided to carry u...

Is McCarthy's "The Road" Hopeless or Hopeful?

I vote for hopeful. In the deepest darkness thinkable the father chooses life and goodness for his son despite the stark realness of despair as the he dies and everything around him appears to be dying. This is the dark night of the soul in our death culture. The love of the father and his choice for good made me think this is the best book I've read since Lord of the Rings. Fred http://forums.catholic.com/showthread.php?t=263597 The Road, Cormac McCarthy -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well, I just finished this book today. Was required to read it for class. And I cried ...boy is it depressing and is so hopeless. Does anybody have other views of the book that I might be missing? I'm looking for hope in it...I feel like it's wrong for something to have so little hope in God. Has anybody else read this book? holly_potter View Public Profile Find all posts by holly_potter #2 Aug 26, '08, 2:43 am Sam Maloney Regula...

Rosary Saved the World in 1960 from Nuclear Annihilation: Pray it to Save the Church from Pope Francis's Errors

-Updated August 19, 2017- On EWTN's Fatima series, Fr. Apostoli said that the Rosary and Our Lady saved the world from Russia's hydrogen bomb rocket. He said this historical event may have been represented in the Third Secret of Fatima as Our Lady stopping the angel from covering the world with flames. Before you read the post in the second section on how the rosary saved the world in 1960 from nuclear annihilation by Work of the Angels also known as Opus Angelorum below, please read the following section on the need to pray for the Pope. It is sad to say, but in terms of policy and actions, President Trump is by a wide margin more pro-life and pro-family than Pope Francis.  (Read lifesitenews.com or my website for the evidence.) There is a just reason why so many faithful Catholics are angry because of the undeniable distorting of Church teachings by Pope Francis and his appointees. We can use that anger to motivate us to trust God and do good. Or you...

Bin Laden Killing Most Botched Operation in History Covered-up by Media

http://www.lewrockwell.com/roberts/roberts304.html The Agendas Behind the bin Laden News Event by Paul Craig Roberts The US government’s bin Laden story was so poorly crafted that it did not last 48 hours before being fundamentally altered. Indeed, the new story put out on Tuesday by White House press secretary Jay Carney bears little resemblance to the original Sunday evening story. The fierce firefight did not occur. Osama bin Laden did not hide behind a woman. Indeed, bin Laden, Carney said, "was not armed." The firefight story was instantly suspicious as not a single SEAL got a scratch, despite being up against al Qaeda, described by former Pentagon chief Donald Rumsfeld as "the most dangerous, best-trained, vicious killers on the face of the earth." Every original story detail has been changed. It wasn’t bin Laden’s wife who was murdered by the Navy SEALs, but the wife of an aide. It wasn’t bin Laden’s son, Khalid, who was murdered by the Navy SEALs, but son H...

7 Lies About Bin Laden's Killing by the Obama Administration

http://www.alternet.org/news/150857/7_deceptions_about_bin_laden's_killing_pushed_by_the_obama_administration/ 7 Deceptions About Bin Laden's Killing Pushed by the Obama Administration The Obama administration deftly shaped the media coverage of its prized kill by detailing a picture-perfect, morally unambiguous special forces operation, which culminated in the death of Osama bin Laden. Most of the details of that narrative have now unravelled, but the conventional wisdom that the tale established remains. As Glenn Greenwald put it, that's par for the course: “the narrative is set forever by first-day government falsehoods uncritically amplified by establishment media outlets, which endure no matter how definitively they are disproven in subsequent days.” In his address to the American people, and in subsequent media briefings by senior officials, we were told that a small force of as many as 25 Navy Seals stormed the compound with orders to take bin Laden alive, if possibl...
