“Do not offend the Lord our God anymore because He is already so much offended.” Then, opening her hands, she made them reflect on the sun, and as she ascended, the reflection of her own light continued to be projected on the sun itself. (Lucia dos Santos)
“I am the Lady of the Rosary. Continue always to pray the Rosary every day.” (Our Lady of Fatima, October 13, 1917)
Today, I was thinking how Francis has for the most part taught that his faith is man-centered instead of God-entered. The thought came to me because Our Lady of Fatima told two of the children seers that they would soon be in Heaven with God which made them happy. They died soon afterward apparently of the real flu pandemic of the time. Our Lady of Fatima, the mother of Jesus, was more concern about their eternal happiness than their getting the flu as were the children who put God first instead of their health which appears to be the inversion of Francis's way of thinking.
Today, also, Catholic pundit Ann Barnhardt implicitly spoke of this seeming inversion of Francis of the "FIRST Great Commandment":
Third: When horrific disappointment involves clerics, prelates, or even laymen highly active in the Church, and sacrilege is involved, we should contemplate the heresy of Donatism, and how its refutation points all the more to the incomprehensible, infinite love of Our Lord for His Church and for us. Consider how much Our Lord loves us if, God forbid, a priest in a state of mortal sin consecrates the Eucharist. Consider the infinite love of Our Lord who WILL NOT ABANDON US, even if that means obeying the call of a Judas Priest who calls Him down upon the altar. Our Lord comes despite the incomprehensible blasphemy and sacrilege, He takes the scourge, so that He can come to you, and be near to you, and so that you can KNOW that He is there. Our Lord is THERE, even when a Judas Priest sits in the confessional, or at the Baptismal Font, at someone’s deathbed, or witnessing a marriage. He will NOT abandon us, and does not hold us responsible for that which we CANNOT know, namely the hidden sins of His ministers. Do NOT believe ANYONE who tries to gaslight you into thinking that by NOT falling into the heresy of Donatism that you are of a “cultish” mindset, because what this actually is, is an attack on SUPERNATURAL FAITH ITSELF.
Fourth: It is essential to never, ever conflate any human being or group of human beings with Our Lord such that faith in Our Lord and His Holy Catholic Church is subject to a human being, because that is, by definition, IDOLATRY. The FIRST Great Commandment is to love GOD, and the Second Great Commandment proceeds from the First: to love others FOR GOD’S SAKE. If we invert the ordinance of the two Great Commandments, apostasy comes quickly, because a faith which proceeds from human beings as the first cause is, by definition, proceeding from fallenness and sin, and thus will spiral into hell. THIS is why satan’s top religion, Freemasonry, has a PUBLIC front of the worship of MAN QUA MAN. HAVING SAID THIS, we can never abandon the Second Great Commandment as a mere “option”. The Second Great Commandment is NOT OPTIONAL. No matter what, we can never “give up” on humanity in toto. Like Our Lord, we must stand manfully at the pillar, take the lash, and KEEP GOING. Like Our Lord carrying His Cross, we must KEEP GOING all the way to Calvary. Like Our Lord crucified, we must PERSEVERE IN LOVE TO THE VERY END. We cannot permit ourselves to descend into a state of total mistrust and suspicion. HAVING SAID THAT, we must keep the words of Our Lord in mind to be “wise as serpents and simple as doves”. Proper balance can and must be struck. Never believe ANYONE who paints perseverance in love of fellow man and a refusal to embrace misanthropy and apostasy, especially in the wake of intense personal disappointment, as “cultish” or “mental illness”. Since we are speaking of the children of Fatima seers putting God first over their health, I thought it might be important to review the "Multiple Miracles of Fatima":
Some years ago, as a writer for the San Francisco Faith, I interviewed a friend who a was former agnostic, Joe Navarro, who was an engineer who worked with Silicon Valley companies such as Signetics and Exxon Enterprises. He told me it was the miracles of Fatima that brought him out of agnosticism and back to the his childhood Catholic faith:
Since you were an agnostic and a scientist, what do you say to people who are agnostics and scientists about the Faith?
Scientists
like to deal with data, information, something they can see, hold or
feel; so, when I have to talk to scientists or engineers who don't
believe, I give them information; for example, the story of Fatima.
There
is physical evidence of that miracle -- 70,000 to 100,000 people
witnessed it. They call it the "dancing of the sun." The book, Our Lady
of Fatima by William Thomas Walsh, contains interviews with people who
were eyewitnesses to the miracle.
I also give them information
on Padre Pio and the historical Blessed Sacrament miracles, and I
explain to them what our beliefs are. I always give them data, so they
will be forced to follow the logic of what I am saying, along with the
information.
Typically what happens is that they reach a point
where they realize where this is going. Then within themselves they have
to make a decision: am I going to stick to my old ways or am I going to
follow the data? Some don't want to change their old ways; but, there
are honest people who are forced to accept the data because they are
facts
What made you decide to become a member of the Legion of Mary?
I
grew up without a good Catholic religious upbringing -- when I was
young, my mother even allowed me to go to some Baptist bible classes and
services. So, in high school, I really got involved with science. I
even converted my Mom's kitchen into a chemistry lab.
I went to
the University of California, Berkeley, in 1966, where I majored in
physics. I was also an agnostic. I couldn't say there wasn't a God,
because I couldn't prove there wasn't any God. But at the same time I
did have this emptiness and longing inside of me.
I went to a Cal
Berkeley bookstore where I saw a book on Our Lady of Fatima. Then I saw
a front-page article on the Fatima Pilgrim Virgin statue in the Oakland
Tribune. So I went and bought the book. Then I spent a lot of time in
the Richmond library reading about Fatima, Lourdes and Our Lady of
Guadalupe. So, in 1972, I converted and went to confession.

The physicist Fr. Stanley L. Jaki agreed with my engineer friend about the "data" of Fatima:
However, enough data are on hand to force one to recognize the meteorological nature of “the miracle of the sun” and to look askance at the phrase, “the sun danced over Fatima.” That the miracle was not solar, that it did not imply any “solar activity” in the scientific sense of that term, is indicated by the fact that nothing unusual was registered by observatories about the sun at that hour. Prior to that hour rain was coming down heavily over the area from the late morning hours on, with the clouds being driven fast by a westerly wind across the sky. A cold air mass was obviously moving in from the Atlantic, only at about 40 kms from Fatima, which itself is at about 15 kms to the east from the line where the land begins to form a plateau well over 300 meters above sea level. The hollow field, Cova da Iria, outside Fatima is itself at about 370 meters. An actual view of the geographic situation is a great help for an understanding of the true physical nature of “the miracle of the sun,” especially when one takes a close look at cloud patterns typical over the Cova.
I feel that at this juncture I must summarize my explanation of the miracle. It began at about 12:45 pm, solar time, after the rain suddenly stopped, and lasted about ten to fifteen minutes. During all that time, the sun, that had not been seen for hours, appeared through thin clouds, which one careful observer described as cirrus clouds. Suddenly the sun’s image turned into a wheel of fire which for the people there resembled a “rodo de fuogo” familiar to them in fireworks. The physical core of that wheel was, as we now have to conjecture, an air lens full of ice crystals, as cirrus clouds are. Such crystals can readily refract the sun’s rays into various colors of the rainbow.
The references to the strong west-east wind and to the continued drift of clouds may account for the interplay of two streams of air that could give a twist, in a way analogous to the formation of tornadoes, to put that lens-shaped air mass into rotation. Since many present there suddenly felt a marked increase in temperature, it is clear that a sudden temperature inversion must have taken place. The cold and warm air masses could conceivably propel that rotating air lens in an elliptical orbit first toward the earth, and then push it up, as if it were a boomerang, back to its original position. Meanwhile the ice crystals in it acted as so many means of refraction for the sun’s rays. Some eyewitnesses claimed that the “wheel of fire” descended and reascended three times; according to others this happened twice. Overwhelmed by an extraordinary sight that prompted most of the crowd to fall on their knees, even “detached” observers could not perform as coolly as they would have wished. Only one observer, a lawyer, stated three decades later that the path of descent and ascent was elliptical with small circles superimposed on it.
Such an observation would make eminent sense to anyone familiar with fluid dynamics or even with the workings of a boomerang. There is indeed plenty of scientific information on hand to approach the miracle of the sun scientifically. This is, however, not to suggest that one could reproduce the event say in a wind tunnel. The carefully co-ordinated interplay of so many physical factors would by itself be a miracle, even if one does not wish to see anything more in what actually happened. Clearly, the “miracle” of the sun was not a mere meteorological phenomenon, however rare. Otherwise it would have been observed before and after, regardless of the presence of devout crowds or not. I merely claim, which I did in my other writings on miracles, that in producing miracles God often makes use of a natural substratum by greatly enhancing its physical components and their interactions. One can indeed say, though not in the sense intended by some Fatima writers, that the fingers of the Mother of God played with the rays of the sun at that extraordinary hour at Fatima.

The Blue Army website explains the "data" farther in saying the "best evidence of the actuality of the miracle is in the incident of the simultaneous drying of the clothes of the people int eh Cova da Iria, as well as the very ground upon which they were standing":
In a 1960 interview by John Haffert of Dominic Reis, who was just 17 when he went to the Cova da Iria on October 13, 1917, with his mother and father, Dominic testified:
“On the side was a big tree, and little small trees around, and the children were there. And now it was raining harder. There was a good three inches of water where I stood, and mud on the ground. I was soaking wet…and then around noontime, the sun started breaking…we can see the sun…Now it was raining, just like you open a faucet at your house. Rain!
Even my mother grabbed me to her and started to cry, saying, ‘It is the end of the world!’ And we see the sun come right into the trees. And then the little children get up and turn around to the people and told the people, “Pray, and pray hard, because everything is going to be all right.” And then the children walk to the tree, and talk in the direction of the tree, and we see the children bend down, just like bow, to somebody. I don’t see what, but something was there…then we see the children move the lips to talk to someone.
I look at the sun without pain in my eyes. Everyone around me was making a tremendous noise. Because of all the noise, I was looking at the crowd as the sun was actually falling. Afterwards, I was told that it had turned upon itself and fallen down. But at that moment I saw it on my shoulder.
The people around me were saying they thought this was the end of the world. They were very much afraid. Many seemed to think, and were saying that the revolutionaries were going to throw bombs on the people. Many were on their knees and were crying, and calling on the Blessed Virgin. I was between 75 and 100 feet from the children and the tree. The people knelt and prayed real hard. And then Lucia said to pray hard. There were colors all around the sun. The sun rolled…and it was like the real sun…but the cloud didn’t go with the sun.”
Simultaneous Drying of the Clothes
The best evidence of the actuality of the miracle is in the incident of the simultaneous drying of the clothes of the people int eh Cova da Iria, as well as the very ground upon which they were standing. Dominic, who was about a hundred feet from the tree of the apparitions on October 13, 1917, tells us what happened next:
“As soon as the sun went back in the right place the wind started to blow real hard, but the trees didn’t move at all. The wind was blow, blow and in a few minutes the ground was dry. Even our clothes had dried. We were walking here and there and our clothes were dry and looked as though they had just come from the laundry. I believed. I thought, ‘Either I’m out of my mind or this was a miracle. A real miracle.'”
Dominic was not the only one who felt the phenomenon. John de Capelinha, who was kneeling between Francisco and Lucia on this day, also noticed the sudden drying of the clothes and those of others around him. Other witnesses also testified to this.
Incredible
Anyone with the slightest knowledge of physics will realize that for a solidly soaked ground (as well as the clothes of the witnesses) to dry so suddenly would normally require such intense heat that everyone there would have been killed.
When we realize that as the phenomenon appeared in the sky, spinning downwards toward the earth, the ground became instantly dry as if no rain had fallen; we then have to acknowledge not only a miracle, but a multiple miracle of incredible magnitude…perhaps even unprecedented in history.
