Pope Francis has decided to throw under the bus his long time close collaborator ex-Cardinal Theodore McCarrick.
McCarrick helped Francis get elected pope, helped him promote pro-gay bishops and construct with Cardinal Pietro Parolin the Vatican's China deal that betrayed the Chinese Catholic underground Church.
The laicization of McCarrick appears to be a obviously public relations ploy to show Francis is tough on sex abuse predators and their cover-up bishops just before a anti-sex abuse conference even as he promotes almost all of McCarrick's pro-gay collaborators and his hand picked pro-gay Cardinal Blasé Cupich who will head the so-called anti-sex abuse Vatican meeting.
The current pope brought McCarrick back into power after Pope Benedict XVI had de-legitimized him by disallowing him from taking part in any type of ministry or activity.
Once the pope brought him back to power he kept him in power until he made Francis look bad especially after the Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò testimony.
As with McCarrick, Latino newspapers and commentator have reported that Francis by his so-called call for "dialogue" and legitimisation of Nicolas Maduro by meeting with him at the Vatican has helped to keep the dictator in power for years.
It appears that Francis is about to throw the dictator under the bus, as he did with McCarrick, now that he is making the pope look bad to Latinos as numerous Latin American bishops conferences condemn Maduro.
The Catholic News Agency just reported that Francis, after years of legitimisation of the dictator, is finally cutting ties with Maduro in a recent letter with conditions of dialogue for the despot which he can't do without losing his dictatorship.
The letter made public by Vatican operatives called for the following conditions according to CNA:
"[L]iberation of political prisoners, re-establishment of the constitutional assembly, open access for humanitarian aid, free political elections."

Pray an Our Father now for the restoration of the Church.
