But it is necessary to state here that Our Lord condemned the Kabbalah. At the beginning of St. John's Gospel it says "the Word of God became flesh" (John 1:14), thus condemning gnosis; the Church also sees the gnosis of the Jews who lost the temple as punishment for idol worship (Ezekiel 8:7-13), although the same Jews seek to rebuild it now. Gnosis means knowledge that the Gnostic can know through the biblical "mystical" secrets of Kabbalah, but it is something irrational and contradictory.
