On February 2, 1634, less that a year before Mother Mariana was to leave this earth, while praying before the Tabernacle, the sanctuary lamp was suddenly snuffed out. Our Lady of Good Success appeared and illuminated the darkness with celestial light; She spoke to her of the symbolism of this extinguishing of the lamp in this way:

  • The first cause was that of darkness and confusion that the world would see herself plunged into during the 19th and 20th centuries as various heresies would be promoted.
  • Secondly, there would be a lack of vocations thus lack of priests and religious.
  • Thirdly, a heavy cloud of impurity would cover the world pervading all corners of the earth. As a result: “There would be almost no virgin souls in the world”
  • Fourthly, childhood innocence would be lost–extinguishing God’s sanctuary lamp in many souls. Priestly vocations lost.
  • Lastly, laxity and negligence on the part of those people who possess great wealth but because of the darkness of their hearts and souls refused to use it to assist the restoration of the Faith.

Our Lady concluded with these words:

"In order to dissipate this black cloud, that prevents the Church from enjoying the clear day of liberty, there will be a formidable and frightful war, which will see the bloodshed of countrymen and of foreigners, of secular and regular priests, as well as that of religious. This night will be most horrible, for, humanly speaking, evil will seem to triumph.

This, then, will mark the arrival of my hour, when I,
in a marvelous way, will dethrone the proud and cursed Satan, trampling him under my feet and fettering him in the infernal abyss. Thus the Church and Country will be finally free of his cruel tyranny."

    On the feast of the Immaculate Conception, 1634, forty days before her anticipated death, Mother Mariana beheld her last vision of Our Lady of Good Success. Once again, accompanied by Her three guardians- Archangels Michael, Gabriel and Raphael - and the nine choirs of angels, the Blessed Mother arrived to speak to her of the joyful news of her departure from this earth. She also wished to demonstrate to Mother Mariana just a little of the treasures that awaited her and all souls that would be faithful to their calling and mission. Mother Mariana beheld the angels bearing numerous gifts for good and faithful priests and humble religious who merited divine glory.
    The trio of angels was carrying exquisite garments and adornments, celestial rewards for those faithful souls who would “propagate the cult under the consoling invocation of Good Success which will be the substance and safeguard of the Faith in the almost total corruption of the 20th century...[for]…. it will effect prodigies in the spiritual as well as temporal field, because it is the will of God to reserve this invocation and your life for that century.”
    Our Lady of Good Success spoke once again on the importance of monasteries and convents for “in them can be found the remedy for all physical and moral evils”
    It was during the last apparition that Our Lady expressed her wishes for mankind to have a special devotion to the holy archangels since “each archangel fulfills a mission in assisting decadent humanity.” This last apparition was filled with divinely inspired symbolism about the sacraments and religious orders and the priesthood.

    Our Lady reminded Mother Mariana and all those who would have a devotion to her under this wonderfully exquisite title of Hope:

    "In the 20th century, this devotion will work prodigies in the spiritual as well as temporal spheres, because it is the will of God to reserve this invocation and knowledge of your life for that century, when the corruption of customs will be almost general and the precious light of Faith almost extinguished!"

    Benedict XVI, soon after his removal from the ministry, said that God's will would be fulfilled in the precincts of St. SoPeter, that is, until his death. So he Himself was the example and beginning of this complete restoration, in suffering, prayer, and hindrance. Suffering that the Church would go through with Bergoglio, for he same suffered the humiliation of being forced to leave and make way for him; prayer to all his faithful children and to the world, for he prayed that he himself might not flee from the wolves; suffering with defamatory headlines and internal disobedience and then arrested and barred from governing. So it is the cross that awaits us
