Heretical: Francis's "God made you" Gay attributed quote must be Publicly Denied or Pope will answer for it on Judgement Day
Worldwide headlines are quoting gay priest abused victim Juan Carlos Cruz as saying that Pope Francis heretically stated that homosexuality is not intrinsically disordered contrary to the Catholic Church's infallible teachings as reaffirmed by Pope Benedict XVI and Pope John Paul II.
Benedict when still a Cardinal heading John Paul's Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith wrote:
"Although the particular inclination of the homosexual person is not a sin, it is a more or less tendency ordered toward an intrinsic moral evil; and thus the inclination itself must be seen as an objective disorder."
(Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, "Letter to the Bishops of the Catholic Church on the Pastoral Care of Homosexual Persons," October 1, 1986)
The Catechism of the Catholic Church, 2357 and 2359, states:
"[H]omosexual acts are intrinsically disordered... Homosexual persons are called to chastity."
Cruz quotes Francis as saying:
"God made you [a homosexual which is a objective disorder which tends to intrinsic moral evil] like this and loves you like this and it doesn't matter to me."
To put this quote in the proper context, one needs to put the quote in the context of another intrinsic disorder such as pedophilia:
"God made you [a paedophile which is a objective disorder which tends to intrinsic moral evil] like this and loves you like this and it doesn't matter to me."
God makes no one a paedophile or a homosexual.
Original sin, fallen nature, homosexual sex abuse such as Cruz experienced and other experiences such as family pathologies as well as misuse of free will can bring this disorders into existence which are allowed by God, but not made by Him.
To say that God makes someone objectively disordered with a tendency to do intrinsic moral evil is a heretical statement.
A intrinsic disorder is an evil.
Many heresies in the history of the Church have been condemned for claiming God made or created evil.
Obviously, God loves everyone, but because He loves them He calls them not to commit intrinsically evil sexual sins such as pedophilia or homosexuality and to live in chastity.
Those who experience same-sex attraction (such as journalist Doug Mainwarin and many others) who are living in chastity are being thrown under the bus by the attributed quote. Mainwarin said:
"Many of us who experience same-sex attraction and remain chaste are troubled by the Pope's departure from... Church teaching." (LifeSiteNews, "'God made you gay': Did Pope Francis just tell the lie of the century?," By Douglas Mainwarin, May 21, 2018)
Today, LifeSiteNews' headline stated:
"Bishop Schneider: Priests who 'bless' gay unions will answer for it on Judgement Day"
What Bishop Athanasius Schneider said of the priests applies to Francis if he doesn't publicly deny the Cruz quote.
LifeSiteNews in the article wrote "Schneider said that priests who do that are committing an even greater sin than the sodomy they are endorsing." Bishop Schneider, in the piece, said:
"When clerics are promoting the blessing of homosexual relationships, they are promoting a sin... exposing them consequently to the real danger of eternal condemnation."
If Francis doesn't publicly deny the attributed heretical quote "God made you" gay then he "will be committing a greater sin than the sodomy" that he is giving the appearance of endorsing which he will be answerable to on Judgment Day.
As Mainwarin, in his article, said:
"More significantly, embrace of a harmful self-identity as 'gay' or 'lesbian' in the core of their being is not rejected by St. Peter's successor... is... a gospel foreign to Catholic ears. Even to many same-sex attracted Catholics like me, it is foreign; it rings wholly untrue."
Eastern Orthodox Christian Rod Dreher put the "massive" scandal of the heretical quote attributed to the Pope in perspective:
"Francis has a grave obligation to clarify the public record. This is hugely important... if the Pope has said homosexuality is morally neutral and/or willed by God, then it is a massive thing... the Pope will have taken the side of the [heretical] modernists... against 2,000 years of consistent teachings based on the clear meaning of Holy Scripture."
(The American Conservative, "Report: Pope Says God Makes People Gay," May 19 2018)
