In a recent podcast called, "Vigano Challenges Catholics To Face the Question of the Validity of Frances," Return to Tradition's increasingly popular Dr. Anthony Stine again makes manifest the non-negotiable concession undergirding that increasing popularity--namely, his longstanding, stubborn, exceptional, and studied agnosticism about whether or not Bergoglio is even the pope at all.

Never reluctant to apply his considerable analytical abilities and theological orthodoxy to other controversial issues facing the Church and the world today, Stine characteristically takes craven refuge in sudden attacks of radical epistemological skepticism on this point alone, claiming that, because there are many possible theories, resolution of the problem is beyond mortal intellectual reach.  Unless one happens to be a Cardinal, of course, whose Gnostic insight of inexplicable origin enables one to, say, read Universi Dominici Gregis, comprehend it, and compare its stated conditions for the validity of papal elections unfavorably with known facts concerning the 2013 Conclave.  If Dr. Stine stated that only Cardinals can do anything about this infelicitous state of affairs, that would be one thing.  Instead he constantly speaks as though only Cardinals can reason from the evidence to ineluctable conclusions, which is not only less than tenable as an assertion in and of itself; it also undermines the rest of what Return to Tradition stands for, because if Catholics should switch off their own critical faculties in the face of hierarchical declarations, on what grounds could we object to--for example--Fiducia Supplicans, either?

"How shall a man judge what to do in such times?" Aragorn son of Arathorn was once asked.  Anthony Stine might do well to consider the reply:

"As he has ever judged. . . . Good and ill have not changed since yesteryear, nor are they one thing among (Cardinals) and another among (everybody else).  It is a man's part to discern them, as much in the Golden Wood as in his own home."

Pray an Our Father now for reparation for the sins committed because of Francis’s Amoris Laetitia.

Pray an Our Father now for the restoration of the Church as well as the Triumph of the Kingdom of the Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Stop for a moment of silence, ask Jesus Christ what He wants you to do now and next. In this silence remember God, Father, Son and Holy Ghost – Three Divine Persons yet One God, has an ordered universe where you can know truth and falsehood as well as never forget that He wants you to have eternal happiness with Him as his son or daughter by grace. Make this a practice. By doing this you are doing more good than reading anything here or anywhere else on the Internet.

Francis Notes:

– Doctor of the Church St. Francis de Sales totally confirmed beyond any doubt the possibility of a heretical pope and what must be done by the Church in such a situation:

“[T]he Pope… WHEN he is EXPLICITLY a heretic, he falls ipso facto from his dignity and out of the Church, and the Church MUST either deprive him, or, as some say, declare him deprived, of his Apostolic See.”
(The Catholic Controversy, by St. Francis de Sales, Pages 305-306)

Saint Robert Bellarmine, also, said “the Pope heretic is not deposed ipso facto, but must be declared deposed by the Church.”

What is needed right now to save America from those who would destroy our God given rights is to pray at home or in church and if called to even go to outdoor prayer rallies in every town and city across the United States for God to pour out His grace on our country to save us from those who would use a Reichstag Fire-like incident to destroy our civil liberties. Great commentary. I listen to Mr. Stine every day but it absolutely drives me up the wall that he refuses to declare outright whether he believes Bergoglio to be a valid Pope or not. Stine’s presentations makes me believe that he doesn’t not think Bergoglio is a valid Pope yet pretty much says that it’s not up to him to say so, it’s only church authorities who can. Where this poisonous stance started, I don’t know but I most certainly do know that St. Catherine of Siena, Doctor of the Church, declares differently!

I found him always weak, and not just as a speaker without low or high but just some boring hearable mid-tone. No power in, or behind his voice, can keep my attention any longer than 3-5 minutes.
Like Murphy says, not even close to one as st. Catharina. What we so badly need in these times. Be a manly man, as Catharina may have to say, not a boring, indecisive one.

Every Catholic must use reason in the face of evidence to understand the truth. Although the laity do not have the right to decide on a Petrine election, Pope John Paul II does not oblige the laity to consent to the error of a Petrine election. This is what he teaches in articles 76 and 77 of the Universi Dominici Gregis. If a piece of evidence tells you that Benedict XVI abdicates the ministry, then the evidence says that Munus was not cited. Therefore, the Catholic must follow what the same Apostolic Constitution says about this case and also follow the articles cited.
