Joseph, Shadow of the Father: "The Priest in Relation to Christ is Strikingly Analogous to the Role of St. Joseph in Relation to God the Father"

What did a disciple of the Apostle St. John who Jesus made the son of
His Mother Mary on the cross say about the Holy Family vs. Satan?
The disciple of St. John named St. Ignatius (30-107) wrote:
"[U]nknown to thee [Satan]; the virginity of Mary; the wonderful birth;
Who it was that became incarnate... the removal into Egypt and return
from that country to the same region... the name [Joseph] of the father
given to Him who did not beget."
(The Ante-Nicene Fathers, Epistle of Ignatius to the Philippians, Chap.
VIII. - Continuation: Ignorance of Satan, American Reprint of Edinburgh
Edition)
God the Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Ghost, choose to defeat Satan by
blinding him in ignorance of Jesus' Incarnation, Mary's Virginity and
Joseph's Name as well as by the saint's protection of the Holy Family.
On this Feast of the Holy Family it seemed like a good time to write about the head of the Holy Family.
One of the best book on St. Joseph is titled "Joseph, Shadow of the Father" by Fr. Andrew Doze.
I think that the general thesis of Doze's book is correct:
Which is that devotion to Our Lady, as being the best way to Jesus, can't be separated from devotion to St. Joseph. - The Catholic Monitor
"The role of the priest in relation to Christ is strikingly analogous to the role of St. Joseph in relation to God the Father. Just as the Eternal Father willed to share His Fatherhood with St. Joseph...so Jesus willed to share His Fatherhood with the priest." - Monsignor Joseph A. Cirrincione
Two doors: Joseph and Mary
All is said here: this world of God, the antithesis of hell,
is Joseph’s world. It has two doors: the first, the entrance door, the
one on the street, is entrusted to Joseph. It allows one to leave a
complicated, confused, hostile and dangerous world behind. The other is
the mysterious door, Mary’s door, the ancient devotion called the “Gate
of Heaven,” through which Jesus enters into the world, in a very
special way. Everything happens as if the Lord were presenting himself
between these two doors (Joseph and Mary) in the same way that the
eternal Father presents himself, according to St Irenaeus, between “his
two hands which are the Son and the Spirit.” The Son imitates the
Father; he also has two hands: Joseph by whom he pulls us away from the
ambiguous world, this Babylon where people think they all speak the same
language while no one understands his brother and Mary, by whom the Son
inaugurates the new world, that of Pentecost, where each one speaks his
own language, where each one is respected in his own uniqueness, yet
everyone understands everyone else! We must go through the first door
so that the Spirit of the Father who comes through the second door might
reveal the Son to us (cf Luke 10:22). “No one comprehends what is truly God’s except the Spirit of God” (1 Cor 2:11). Andrew Doze “Joseph: Shadow of the Father” - [https://humanityfaithhopecharity.com/category/father-andrew-doze/]
A priest asked me my opinion on the apparition in Itapiranga, Brazil. Here is part of what I wrote to him.
The exorcist and scholar Fr. Chad Ripperger on YouTube gives the best short explanation on discernment of apparitions.
Google his name, YouTube and "discernment of apparitions" if you want to
view the talk to learn how to tell the difference between true and
false apparitions.
In my opinion, on the positive side of the Brazil apparition, I do like
that apparently St. Joseph and Our Lady are both an important part of
it.
The great book on St. Joseph is titled "Joseph, Shadow of the Father" by Fr.
Andrew Doze.
I think that the general thesis of Doze's book is correct:
Which is that devotion to Our Lady, as being the best way to Jesus and can't be separated from devotion to St. Joseph.
On the negative side which Fr. Ripperger points out, most approved
apparitions are not prolonged and continuous like, for example,
Medjugorje and it appears this one.
This apparition, at least, has the approval of the local bishop unlike
Medjugorje. But, it is better to always wait for the complete approval.
Why not just focus on the approved Our Lady of Fatima which has one of the greatest miracles in history?
If all faithful Catholics completely conformed their life to Fatima's
message the restoration and reform of the Church would quickly come.
Monsignor Joseph A. Cirrincione's book St. Joseph, Fatima, and Fatherhood offered this insights on Fatima and St. Joseph:
The role of the priest in relation to Christ is strikingly analogous to the role of St. Joseph in relation to God the Father. Just as the Eternal Father willed to share His Fatherhood with St. Joseph...so Jesus willed to share His Fatherhood with the priest.... (p.28)
Likewise,
"the sun stands out in a special way as a symbol and figure of God, and
also of His Church...." Monsignor goes on to say that at Fatima "the
'miracle of the sun' represents not so much a threat of evils to come as
it does a foreshadowing of the dethronement of God the Father, and an
intimation of the appalling consequences inevitably to follow." One
month after the "dance" of the sun in Fatima, the Communists took
control of Russia.
The combination of atheism and secularism--
which practically speaking amounts to the universal and official
rejection of the Fatherhood of God by mankind across the entire face of
the earth....And I believe it was foreshadowed by the 'miracle of the
sun' at Fatima in 1917.
[....]
Rejection of the Fatherhood
of God by the vast majority of mankind inevitably has set in motion a
chain reaction of consequences affecting fatherhood under every aspect
that we have considered here. The notion of fatherhood in many families,
for example, has been reduced to a biological fact. And the role of the
father as the head of the family has completely gone out of style...the
disintegration of the family inexorably and inevitably is leading to
the disintegration of society itself....But the spirit of
anti-fatherhood has entered even the Catholic Church. Recognition of the
fatherhood of the Vicar of Christ...has eroded to an alarming
degree...the role of priestly fatherhood is now coveted by women,
seeking to escape the noble destiny which God has prepared for their
sex, but which nevertheless they are taught to regard as drudgery.
(pp.40-41)
Our Lady of Fatima's remedy for societal and moral
ills is the prayer of the rosary, consecration to her Immaculate Heart
(symbolized by wearing the brown scapular), and the loving performance
of our daily duties. It is becoming increasingly more difficult for
Christians to perform the most basic duties of their individual states
of life. Yet it is the fulfillment of our ordinary duties upon which our
salvation depends. Let us have an ever increasing confidence in the
prayers and protection of the Mother of Mercy. [http://teaattrianon.blogspot.com/search?q=Joseph+A.+Cirrincione]
Pray a Hail Mary now to Our Lady of Fatima and St. Joseph that the
Fatima message is widely spread and lived for the reform of the Church.
Stop for a moment of silence, ask Jesus Christ what He want you to do next. Make this a practice. By doing this you are doing more good than reading anything here or anywhere else on the Internet
Francis Notes:
- Doctor
of the Church St. Francis de Sales totally confirmed beyond any doubt
the possibility of a heretical pope and what must be done by the Church
in such a situation:
"[T]he Pope... WHEN he is EXPLICITLY a heretic, he falls ipso facto from his dignity and out of the Church, and the Church MUST either deprive him, or, as some say, declare him deprived, of his Apostolic See."
(The Catholic Controversy, by St. Francis de Sales, Pages 305-306)
Saint Robert Bellarmine, also, said "the Pope heretic is not deposed ipso facto, but must be declared deposed by the Church."
